As I posted before in this thread, I thought that I should give my final contribution in case it's useful to anyone. My K7 was sent to Pentax's representative in Australia (CR Kennedy) due to the green line problem (which wasn't always green, actually). After some weeks, I received the camera back and, in the job report, the "solution" description was "Upgraded firmware". However, I had already updated the firmware to the latest available to the public and, as it turns out, the problem was not been fixed by them. So, after contacting them, I sent the camera back in and after some weeks it returned. This second time, the description was "Dismantled Unit, fitted new CCD block assembly, reassembled and checked.". Now the camera seems to be working properly. I'm quite happy with it but my trust in the brand has certainly been affected by the whole story (that was my 3rd Pentax DSLR)... I intended to invest in some new lenses, now I don't know anymore. :(
Cheers.

Yesterday I took around 200 pictures with my K7. When I got home and uploaded my photos to the computer, I saw that the second half of the batch had the green line! After finding this thread, I downloaded PhotoMe and verified that when I started taking the photos the temperature field in the metadata of the photos shows 21C. When the temperature reaches 27C, the photos start to show the defect as the two crops below demonstrate:

Attachment 40292
Attachment 40293

For info, the serial number of my K7 starts with 338XXXX. I don't know what to do now but I think that the only logical course of action is contacting Pentax Australia and trying to get it fixed or replaced (the web shop from which I bought the camera doesn't accept returns).
