I've never used neither the Kx nor the K7. Anyway thoses products are very different in terms of ergonomics, quality and price. As far as high iso is concerned there is probably no difference if you shoot in raw file (cf. dpreview review of D300s which shares its sensor with Kx) and a great difference if you shoot in jpeg, jpeg conversion engine being far better on the Kx than on the K7.
So if you have the money, you are looking for a semi-pro dslr and you usually shoot in raw take the k7. If not take the Kx
