In addition, there's Treasure Island (great views of the City skyline), the Ferry Building and Embarcadero (great views of the Bay Bridge), Mission Dolores Park (nice views of downtown), and Lands End Trail (views of the Golden Gate). I would also check out Golden Gate Park, including the Japanese Tea Garden, Conservatory of Flowers, and Botanical Garden among many beautiful locations. If you're into street photography, I would try the Mission District and Haight Street. Enjoy and look forward to seeing your pictures!

Sorry to see you go but I understand. I'm really bummed that the new sigma lenses are not available in K mount. Thanks for the 50mm. I hope to get good use out of it. :)

I would certainly want the documentation, especially for such an expensive lens. Even if it doesn't matter for warranty purposes, the absence of any paperwork could reduce the lens's value on the used market if you ever decide to sell it.

Ricoh is currently developing a set of "large aperture single focus" lenses, including a standard FL lens, that are set to be released as early as 2017. If you need something now, I'd recommend the DA* 55mm F1.4 or the Sigma 50mm DG EX F1.4 HSM. There are several threads here comparing the two. The Sigma is a bit hard to find in K mount but runs about half the price of the DA*.

That makes sense to me however all of the shots I posted were taken at the same F stop (F13). Maybe a different aperature would provide more consistent results?

Hi all, I've been a fan of this thread for a long time but never had a chance to contribute. I've bought and sold this lens twice before, and each time I regretted it. I eventually picked up another SMC version and finally got the chance to reacquaint myself with it last month in Toronto. Here are a few pics from my trip.
One question I have: I've noticed that sometimes the lens provides a very clean starburst, but other times the starburst is a little sloppy, such as in the first and fourth pictures below. Does anyone know whether this is an issue with my lens or is this normal behavior for the 15mm?

Selling in the marketplace used to be great. Unfortunately, it's been much more difficult for me lately. Perhaps the heavily discounted prices at authorized dealers like B&H and Adorama have made people less willing to buy used. Selling on greedbay (I like that name UncleVanya) is definitely more expensive but at least you know your item will sell.
