I love my 70-200.
Only drawbacks are that it is not WR
And it is big and heavy.
The 55-300 is not usuable in low light.
What are you shooting in low light ?

Thanks to all who pushed me over the edge.
I am now a proud owner of K3 body.
Purchased in Toronto at undisclosed location ( don't want to violate advertizing rules) for $1050 (body only)
Now I need my work day to end desperatly.

The only way I would sell the 70-200 is if I knew the fz1000 or rx10 could give me the same performance and IQ.
The 4k video with ability to pull 8mp frames sounds interesting although I am not sure the pictures will resolve the same.

I think I am convinced.
Lens hunting is half the fun sometimes....
I am going to hit up prodigital 2000 for a new k3 .. unless I can get a pricematch at Henrys or Vistek.

well I sold my K5 so i am not operational at all lol.
I love the idea of having a bridge camera like the Fz1000 or rx10 so that I can travel light.
At the same time I don't want to loose IQ or AF speed that a K3 with Tammy will provide.

I was 18-135 for rainy days and general purpose travel lens.
it happened a lot this summer where I had to pack up as not to risk 70-200 getting wet.

Do I get:
K3
K5iis + 18-135 wr
Or do I sell the Tammy 70-200 and get k5iis with 18-135 wr and fz1000?
i predominantly shoot sports, portraits and landscape.
I have sigma 10-20 and tamron 28-75 as my other lenses.
perspective is appreciated.

Hi just here looking for some advise please.
I had a pentax k5 with a TAMRON 70-200 F2.8 DI PEN LD SP (77MM) that I have been shooting sports with.
I have now sold the K5 and looking to upgrade to the K3 and also add a TC for extra reach.
Is there any TC that I can use safely with this lens that won't ruin the camera or lens ??

Thinking of bringing:
K5 - tammy 28-75 2.8, Sigma 10 - 20,
Canon HF R52 camcorder
Thinking of buying a used Ricoh GR, mx-1 or Fuji x20 as a backup or for travel light days for times I don't feel like carrying a big dslr.
Any thoughts, opinions on this setup ?

If it had faster zoom I would pick this up.
If i had all the money in the world this and the x100s would be my light travel go to combo.

vacation is not an option right now.
Kids are in school and just finished 2 weeks winter vacation and we have to be strategic with our work allotted vacation time.
Would love to get up and go but planning a vacation for a family of 5 is much harder to plan.
PS she loves new camera gear herself so its a win win. ;-)

Last vacation to Cuba I took both the 10-20 and 28-75 with me.
As great as these lenses are they stayed in my bag 75% of the trip because of the rain.
I guess the best solution then is to sell the K-5 and purchase the k-3 with 18-135 wr and add the Tamron 70-200.

I need help choosing:
keep my current setup k-5, sig 10-20, tammy 28-75 2.8 and add a Tammy 70-200
Or sell my current gear and purchase the following:\
k-3, 18-135, tamron 70-200
I predominantly shoot sports, portrait and vacation pictures.
This is a tough one ... looking for some perspective !

I just sold this lens because of subpar auto focus speed.
Even if I still had it I would have a hard time playing with the internals of an expensive Da* lens.
With my luck I would mess up so bad that I would disable motor \ screw mount and the lens cap would probably no longer fit. :p

I hate you!
I wish you would just tell me the tamron is just as fast so that i could save $400 and not worry about motor issues. :p

Greetings forum,
Can anybody comment on the autofocus on the k-3 for the Tamy 70-200 vs. Sigma 70-200 vs. Da* 60-250 on the K-3.
Does the Sigma still outperform the other two lenses by a considerable margin ?

I currently have the S4 with Swiftkey and even with the swype turned on it does not compare to the BB10 keyboard experience from my perspective.
I just found the Blackberry predictions were so accurate and the swipe up feature so intuitive.
You really have to use a Z10 or Z30 for a couple days to really appreciate the BB keyboard experience.
Apple or Samsung should have bought BB just for the damn keyboard :p

For communication type or talk - BB10
For camera - Iphone 5s or Note 3
For customization - Nexus 5
In the last year I have had a Note 2 \ HTC 1 \ Z10 \ S4
The Note series line of phones are amazing and you really don't know what you are missing until the Spen is gone. (once you have used it)
At the moment I have the S4 but every time I am either talking on the phone or typing I wish I had a Blackberry.
Next phone for me will be Blackberry Z30

Hi Folks,
Anybody here have any experience or opinions on Camcorders.
I am looking to video tape indoor \ outdoor kids soccer regularly and family v
vacations when the chance comes up.
I have narrowed down my search to the Canon G30 and sony PJ650
I love the ergos and 20x optical zoom of the Canon but the price and Image stabilization is hard to beat.
Does anybody have any extensive use with these 2 products or with any other camcorder that they
would like to recommend.
I also have a k5 with Da* 60-250 that I am going to try to film with once I get a monopod.
