Hello vmax. I think you should try to look here. I have been worried about quality, but I was gladly surprised:

tripod: DealExtreme: $63.85 1.5M Aluminum Alloy Digital Camera Tripod (5KG Load Max) -its Victory 3001
cable release: DealExtreme: $5.75 JueYing RS-C1 Remote Shutter Switch for Canon Digital SLR Camera EOS30/Samsung GX-1L/Pentax L + More

both works very well with my K20d. Shipment is free worldwide and their service is great. Its not any advertisement, just trying to help..

I just saw moon rising from behind of forest, so I quickly grabbed my camera, small
Velbon tripod (changed lens from Sears 80-200 to 18-55AL II) and took series of photos..
No big PP, just conversion from PEF RAW and small cropping..

Picture taken on 19:06 (GMT+1)

hello freeload. I tried what you described, but unfortunately it doesnt helped me. I am not wearing glasses. I moved slider completely to - value(right side) and still circles are not in line. When I align them, I have backfocus issue(tested on Yvon´s Bourque AF adjustment chart).

Any ideas?I am going to write Pentax importer in Slovakia if shims are available to purchase. everybody I know and has DSLR is canikon, so no help available...

hello dear colleagues. Yesterday I installed new diagonal split circle focusing screen into K20 and all of my 6 lenses are not usable with it. When I am using AF, my picture is sharp, but screen shows something different-I am out of focus. When my hand is guided by split circle or micro prisms, photos are blurred/out of focus. Can somebody help me? Thanks in advance

HDR - I don't get it?!

hi Ari, I shoot into RAW all the time. Problem is when 8G memory card is full and I have to process every image, due whole day when I am shooting, environment changes and therefore Photo laboratory settings are different. I think I will start using RAW+JPEG function:o

For HDR processing I am using Dynamic Photo HDR, which has lots of adjustments.

Hello all. I tried to take series of pictures(5) in Aperture priority mode and on tripod and then merge them into one picture. Here is what I extracted from it. I have to learn to not allways shoot into raw-sometimes it is pain when processing images..

shot with K20 and sigma 18-200, aperture 11...

Night star picture questions

for tonight I am done-there will be no star shooting. Strong fog started to lay down and sky is full of clouds-I cannot see anything up there. I am packing tripod and cable shutter switch back to backpack:(
Maybe tomorow...But when I am looking on my PDAs screen, weather forecast doenst show anything good for upcoming days. Hopefully it will change.

BTW. I am very curious for normal picture taken with 12-24. In future I want to buy super wide lens, but honestly, I dont like fisheye effect. Is this lens producing flat images, or these strange?

it might be cool to take some interresting pictures of night sky with silouette of one of those bombers, but propably impossible, right?;)
I have to kick my laziness and go somewhere for nice night shots. Its a pity that here where I live I am surrounded by hills...

for photo stacking you want to use in-camera interval shooting?how long you can expose+DFS before you see that there is gap between stars?

that is very nice photo:cool: -I like city lights, it looks more live and interresting
If I will have clear sky, I want to try stacking as you, Pxpaulx. I already downloaded Startrails and will see.
And one interresting thing: If your battery will discharge during dark frame substraction, after inserting new battery, camera will continue with processing last image taken, so long time exposure shot will not be lost-ahhh good Pentax:D
This camera is still surprising me more and more...

SEARS 80-200mm aperture not working

good evening to all..There is no longer need to wait for any advice. I got upset and decided to repair it by myself. I just needed small screwdriver and half hour
of time to investigate what is wrong. There is spring wire ring inside, which is loading aperture lever spring(that tiny one). It was near lever and because there
was not enough torque by spring, it stayed on its last position. I just simply moved ring to opposite side and assembled lens together. Now its working brilliant again.
Even when lens costed me 10 bucks :D + some shipping, I like it very much and now I have to wait for diagonal split circle focusing screen from jinfinance:)

best regards
Michal

Hello dear Pentaxians. I have a problem with this lens. Until today it was working normally, but during todays trip, aperture stopped to change when I rotate aperture ring. But it also stays wide open when I move aprture lever. Did somebody dissassembled this lens, so he/she can help me to solve this problem? Its very good lens...

Attached is sample photo to see nice background and photos of mount(depressed/pressed lever)

Thanks in advance for some tips..

today I tried what will happen, when I take out battery from grip during exposure. In short: NOTHING! Camera will continue shooting from body´s battery unattended. Seems, that Pentax has been smarter during designing this camera and anticipated that this state may occur during photographing(one battery will be depleted during long lasting shot)

pxpaulx, I was also worried about battery life. For this long exposure photo I have been using chinese NP400 battery pack(only 1350mAh rated). After taking photo(mirror flapped down) my camera was showing half depleted battery. But there was also same time noise reduction procedure following, so another 2hr and 15 mins of camera running. Battery did good(I was able to take another 200 photos without charging). This NP400 I have in grip and original pack is placed in k20 body. Now I am in work, but I want to try, what will happen, when I remove battery from grip during taking photo(if camera will continue in active shot, or switch off, because electronics inside camera will be not so fast to reroute to body battery...). So based on this, I can say that original Pentax D-LI50 can last for at least 3 hours shot + 3 hours NR processing. Michal

Good morning Hin. The clue to use bulb exposure program is to have cable shutter switch with bulb capability(push it down and slide to lock). One you can find on Dealextreme, where did I get it also from:) .For that price you cant go wrong, because thei ships worldwide for free. This one I used for taking my photo:(DealExtreme: $5.63 JY Bulb Setting Shutter Switch for Canon / Contax / Pentax / Samsung Digital Camera). I am also thinking to buy this one with timer(you can adjust exact ime of shot duration and leave your camera to work and you can go sleep:D):DealExtreme: $33.78 YongNuo TC-C1 Precision Timer Remote Shutter Switch for Canon/Pentax/Samsung DSLR Cameras

Hi Leo. Yes, you are right-I live in Rabča. Sky is dark-I saw it on yesterdays late night experiment. If you have somewhere near too much artificial light, it will make your photo look overexposed.

I will try to increase aperture to get longer time and have longer star trails.

Thanks a lot. I will also try to experiment, but at this season it is pretty hard to find clear sky for such a shooting. BTW: Yellowish tint of first photo is caused by lights from another city. I have to find another place for such as experiments :D

Hello Slaw, this is for sure problem with light entering camera from behind(through viewfinder). Use small cover supplied with package, or something else and you will take great shots. I had same problem with this, until I saw that problem dissappeared when I covered viewfinder by finger accidently :D
