Yeah sorry may bad too.... Yes I am looking at the "budget" range up to $350 should have mentioned that in op... I didn't mean to cause confusion ---------- Post added 05-01-15 at 01:03 ---------- THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE... That has been a great help... As I said before I have been using the Pentax 80-320 for the last 10yrs first on a MX30 then on a IstDL and that is a lovely lens.. Had some great shots with it and coupled with a 2x convertor even better... But it is slightly slow on the K50 and I felt it was time for an upgrade on my lens as well as the camera...thinking about it in hind site I should have got a 300mm kit and not just the body... But oh well I thought at the time had enough lenses... Lol thanks again everyone...

Hi everyone and a very Happy New year to you all... I just wanted a bit of advice... I'm wanting to up grade my Pentax 80 - 320 lens.. Now I have 2 choices in mind ( bearing in mind that my subjects of choice are mainly Wildlife/Landscape) the 2 I have in mind are either Pentax HD DA 55-300mm f/4-5.8 ED WR or Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG Macro Telephoto Zoom Lens .... My Camera is the K50 ... I know the penty has WR but I have managed 10 yrs of photography with out WR so tbh that is not a big sway point ... I just wanted to get a few opinions on pros and cons from people that have used these lenses.... Thanking you all in advance ..

Try Taking a plain cap to a shop that does Vinyl graphics (You know the ones that do Sign writing on vans and Cars)... Some of these shops do one off clipart to any size... I have a friend in the UK that does this. They can generally do Graphics to any size. Most do printed Vinyl too so the Applications could be endless

@ pentaxus... Definitely not a battery problem... I have run the internal down for 3 days.. My Rechargeables are Good... I have tried BRAND NEW Lithium (Duracell)..and have even tried a Power cord.... All comes out as the same end result...(see past posts). I don't blame Monique at Pentax... but instead of putting me in touch with one of the Pentax Techies you get fobbed off with a scripted Diatribe from someone that probably really doesn't know too much about cameras (like I don't know anything about flying to the moon) which really doesn't help..... I just wish Companies like Pentax would train people better or use real techs to field calls or Internet inquiries ... I would have been better off going to BestBuy and asking one of the spotty teenagers there for advice... at least I would have got out of the house and maybe done some shopping afterwards.....I'm sure I'm not the only one that has been unsatisfied with Pentax's Bad Customer Service..... But as a last thought I think I'll be upgrading when I can because as I said earlier I cannot afford to buy new lenses as well as a new camera......... Thanks Again EVERYONE for your input.

Thanks everyone for your input... I seriously think this is terminal... just a shame I don't have a backup Camera... I'll just have to get saving and purchase a new body.... It'll have to be a Pentax as I have 8 pentax lenses and I can't afford to replace them as well... and all the pentax to other camera convertors don't allow you to use any automatic systems and you tend to get really bad shutter lag...... Thanks again...

Yep Contacts are clean... I usually use Rechargeables 2500 or 2300 NIMH.(Fully charged).. Never had a problem before..Batteries register as Full but LCD Took at least 10 seconds to power up and I have NO Functions or menu or Preview.... once it does power up Auto focus and shutter button works and it will act as thought the camera is taking a picture but it doesn't write to the Memory card (card is fine and works on any other device) also If to attach USB to Computer The Camera Does not register on the computer either . and as I said earlier I tried BRAND NEW Lithium Duracell's yesterday and they didn't even register (Came up as Spent Batteries on the LCD)

Thanks everyone.... @ Magkelly... Yep it certainly seems terminal... I don't think it is worth the postage BOTH ways to be told that I'm gonna need $200 worth of repairs.. I think I may need to raid my daughters Piggy Bank for a new model or something different LOL... @Patrick.... Yeah I feel the Same way... My DL is like a Family Member ( My Wife Brought it for me when we were dating) Lots of Memories and Great Shots taken with it... And YES I agree Monique did seem a bit on the scripted side... I feel unless you have a Brand new Model Pentax that their Tech Support really don't have the time or just don't care about the later models.... Shame on them!
P.S. I Tried Brand new (Brought today) Lithium Batteries earlier ..... they registered as spent batteries on the LCD display and NO Power at all ...... My Rechargeables register as good batteries but the camera still has the original problem..... Very Strange!!!!!

Hi Everyone
:fedup:OK My Problem is ..... Yesterday I was Using My istDL and it worked perfectly fine just as it has ever since I first Brought it (almost 7 Years ago.... Why buy new when it still works well EH!) But to day I go to use it and The start up is sluggish (Top LCD with the battery power indicator and Focus info) I cannot get the menu or view images to work or any of the buttons on the back to operate (function ,menu, delete etc) I tried to connect to my PC via USB ...NO LUCK.. :(I have checked the batteries All 6 sets and they are ok. I have checked the Memory Card and that is ok....I took it out to day and thought everything was fine... so there I was snapping away and I went to view my photos on the preview .....No Preview I just thought it was a glitch... I got home Slipped the Memory Card into the PC and to my surprise NO IMAGES... Damn... I had Taken at least 200 shots today. Unfortunately I Have no other Camera and I'm currently stuck without any means of taking pictures... I'm hoping someone on here may have a solution to this problem and with any luck this will not cost me much or nothing to fix...
Thank you in advance for any assistance.
