This camera sounds great. Can't quite afford it right now sadly. May buy a K20D though. Please do not discontinue it too soon Pentax.

1. It is neither IR or RF.
It is optical. A series of preflashes send the information..
2. Yes, though I am not sure if it can be used with p-ttl preflashes in this way.
3. Yes, however you can have it only preflash and not contribute to the over all exposure.
4. See above.
NB: I am not certain that your K200D can be used in commander mode for wireless..

Doesn't seem fair to say this without even knowing how many DSLRs they get sold over all.
If they sold 10 40D's and 20 XSi's I would think that this would be a good showing.

Makes the SR kinda useless for manual zooms.

The K30D will probably be somewhere around this time next year. Possibly earlier, around August.
Then again, K20D prices have fallen so low, I don't know if to blame it on retailers trying to clear stock for the K30D or the economy.

Ben's work has become some of my favorite to view. I am not just saying so because he uses Pentax.
There is a special quality to it that I find truly immersing and enchanting.

FF is unlikely at this point.
The performance of the current APS-C sensors is more than enough. Pentax is more likely to attempt to diversify its offering and stand out from the competition with a medium format system aimed below the Hasselblad crowd. Probably a little more than the cost of a D3.
I think that video is almost inevitable due to the fact that it is about to become a standard for the competition and the fact that photojounalists, who will be under pressure to give video coverage, have taken well to the K10D and K20D already.
Realistically I expect the K30D to have:
APS-C sensor, somewhere between 14-18 megapixels
Faster AF
Slightly higher burst rate. 5 fps the most
HD video capability
At least a stop better when it comes to noise performance
A few extra creative and useful features
I mean what do you people want? Blood?

I was considering getting one for my girlfriend but if I have the money I may just get myself a K20D and let her use my K10D. :)

I am hoping they can give us a nice big viewfinder, as big as fullframe. It is the only reason I wanted fullframe to begin with.
I expect that it will have video.

- Mirror lockup would be appreciated.
- A flash meter inside the camera. Strobists would flock! I am sure it could be done.

They even mentioned Pentax in the article. This is great. :)
I am happy with my K10D for now but if they release something really good next year I think I know what I want next christmas.

Well they managed to beat the 1000D, D40x and D60 in price.
Now they need to start tooting their own horn.

Judging from that ratings site, it may come without a battery or some other stuff.

I don't care about fps, I don't even use the motor mode.
Better AF is all I could really want to be honest.

It is possible I think that they may be redesigning it optimal full frame performance if they are really releasing a full frame camera.

The K20D is user calibratable but if you have a K10D you have to send it in with the lens to get it working.

Someone explained to me how it is achieved, sounds very difficult to get it down consistantly and controlled precisely, kudos!
