To be honest, the second one was a snapshot made from a driving car (it's embarrassing to stop the driver every time you see something to shoot). So...
But anyway.. Here's a panorama from the same location.

Hi Arjay.
Sometimes it's hard to find directions for repairing a specific lens. Here's a link for the disassembly and cleaning of the Super Takumar f1.4 50mm:
http://www.mypentax.com/tak50_1_4.html
and here's one for the 35mm takumar:
http://pentax-manuals.com/repairs/takumarlens_s.pdf
I had some problems with a Pentax zoom lens, but since this guides are for primes, they didn't work for me. Maybe they will help you.

Good luck,
Robert

Well, I'm with foxglove on this one. I'm pretty sure that it's a butterfly wing.

Lens Filters

When I bought my DA lenses (18-55mm and 50-20mm) which are 52mm threaded, I also bought a set of neutral density filters and a circular polarizer (and of course a UV filter). Then came the other lenses, with different thread sizes (49, 58, 60mm).
So, my question is the following: do you guys buy different filters for each thread size or do you use step-down/up rings? I presume that with a step-up ring there is no problem. How about step-down rings? Do they induce vigneting?
Any thoughts?

Robert

All pictures were taken with the Cosmicar 70-200mm, with the exception of the "bench" pictures, which were taken with the Pentax A 50mm f/1.4.

Thanks for the comments guys.

That's strange. Maybe the smugmug server was down when you read my post.

Now that you mention it, you're right. It resembles a duckling.

For now, Oklahoma City, United States. Then in 2 weeks, Cluj-Napoca, Romania (home country).
Here in the States I'm a research technician at a medical foundation. In Romania I will continue my PhD in biology.

Here are a few pictures taken this Sunday in Oklahoma City's Myriad Botanical Garden.

The first picture is taken with a Pentax A 50mm, the others with a Cosmicar 70-200mm (and for the last one I used also some extension tubes).
As always, C&C is most welcome.

You won't see this on you, or on your pet (at least not like you suggested you would).

Flashes

After long consideration I decided to buy an external flash for my DS. My problem is that I don't know which one to buy. The Pentax AF-500 is out of question (to expensive), so my choices would be the Pentax AF-360, the Sakar Digital Concepts 952AF (http://www.beachcamera.com/shop/product.aspx?sku=SAK925AFP) or the Vivitar 6000AF. The problem is that I have no knowledge about flashes in general, so you see my problem.
The thing is that, probably, I wont use it too often, maybe for some macro shots or indoors, so I don't want to spend to much on a flash.
Any suggestions and help is appreciated.

Robert.

Sorry, I didn't realize that the exif is gone. Anyway.
As I mentioned before, it was taken with the DA 18-55mm @18mmm, ISO 200, f/11, 15" exposure and flash.
As for the effect....well, after 2 or 3 seconds of exposure I told her to get up and walk out of the frame.
