D600 here, 8000k clicks, no stains, factory debris: yes, had them in the begining, first 1000k shots.
Nikon 28/50/85 1.8G lenses, bought new, no problems, 28 -7, 50 -2, 85 spot on (tested with FoCal)
K-7: Green line, twice, Pentax very good about it, got new body after warranty.
K-5: AF issue in low light/tungsten or whatever, solved it by using AF adjust when i needed but got tired of problems, sold it.
16-45: three before i got a copy without loose barrel and/or focus issues.
50-135: one with heavy back focus, next SDM fail, got new one that actually was an old with scratch marks and dust inside.... Got new one again from Pentax, this time they really gave me a new one, perfect, sold it... though it was good my soul was hurt... best damn lens i ever had...
DA15, FA31, FA43, FA77, D-FA 100 WR, 18-55 WR, DA50-300: No issues
I went Nikon before they solved K-5 issue...

What the hell Ogl...
This camera delivers more features than the competition will offer for the same price, this is a great followup to the K-x, K-r line.... nuff said. Get over it Ogl, this is entry/mid level... other things will come.

Same here, i watch this thread everyday though :) Nice images Simon. Lovely rendering from the 180 there.
I found a Nikkor Ai-S 105 2.5 on the flea-market, 100$ quite a good find... It performs well imo. Here with D600, some shots very hi ISO. |

A shame with Sony... such nice lenses and the Minolta legacy, and Zeiss lenses... and that 135... oh that 135... both of them actually...

Interesting times! Imho Pentax has a freedom to expand or evolve in every direction, choosing the "right for the brand" path or paths is the hardest part. This is because Pentax users want different things.
The enthusiasts want to preserve the mount, others want Pentax to become Canikon, and some want them to start from scratch with new mounts.
I only used Pentax for the small/light combo (K-7 15/31/43/77), i now use Nikon.
And personally i dont want Pentax to become like my D600 and AF-S Nikkors, thats what i need now but as an camera enthusiast, and Pentax enthusiast id rather see them keep the niche style with small and compact bodies and lenses... whatever they do with the mount.
Please Pentax! Stay unique and niche!!!

Great lines there Axl!
As this is a "thoughts" thread, heres my thoughts. I got hold of an Tamron 24-75 (built in motor) for 200$, and went for it.
I only had 50 1.8G and 85 1.8G for my D600 and i really needed something wide before christmas, without braking the bank!
Zooms is not my cup. Tried many with Pentax, only to end up with primes.
This time i though maybe zoom will be different with FF.
And YES! It is very different, i think its the dof, and big view... 2,8 wasnt fireworks on APS-C, not for me.
But its damn nice on FF, and i admit that i kinda like it! Ok, the lens is not a super performer, but for 200$... i dont complain.

Some humble firsts with D600 and 50 1.8G. Its been a great first experience with a FF body.
Im in the "running around at home in the evening, when its too late and boring to take pictures, shooting anything just for the fun of it" period.
You know, the one you have when you bought something new, and dont actually have time for it :p
Anyways, these are Jpeg's sooc (almost, just some minor tweak here and there)
iso 2000 @ f/1.8
iso 200 @ f/1.8
iso 3600 @ f/1.8
iso 1600 @ f/2.2
iso 6400 @ f/2.8

AF-C tracking objects, af point sensitivity, af prediction speed and accuracy, af CPU speed?
Testing af-s on a still target with high contrast is just a simple way to state that pentax af is good, fast and acurate in that area only. Wich it is, and should be by todays standard. Btw my ist* is more acurate than my k-5 was.

@ Daniel
Do what you have to do, with your family and their economic interest as the main priority. The gear is not your priority and should never be so.
I just sold of my Pentax gear- K-7, DA15, FA31, FA43, FA77, *ist.
I did this with my young family as my first and main priority. And for some other reasons.
Im blessed with a beautiful son, soon to be 2 yo. The switch was long overdue to me, should have done it earlier.
I went from 90% nature photo to 90% family photo in 1,5 year.
Im not poor, but i could not see myself being so selfish to store those lenses for later. I'd rather put them straight into my family's best interests.
Doing things, going somewhere on vacation... pay of that old furniture loan or whatever...
To me, the switch gave me a bunch of money. From half of them i bought a used camera and one lens. The rest i put straight into the family.
And from that "half of the money bunch" i got myself a camera and lens that gives me more photographic joy than before for the 90% family stuff and
the rest 10% that i sometimes find time to do, well.... its good enough for that to.
For some people this does not make sense, well... if they dont understand its their problem. Personally im more happy now with photography.
If i was alone, if i did not have a family with young kids, things would look different.

FF is coming more and more in the enthusiast/hobbyist segment, and the funny part is that it wont show up in those sales stats. Because its about the used market.
I see it everywhere... people are buying used 5D's and D700's like crazy. That used market is very big now, and you dont have to buy anything new. It's all there, bodys and lenses.
Sure... those people are not a big number in the whole, but...
Its a sleeper "problem" for sure. No surprise in Sony's announcement imho...
The Sony camps FF voices are not bigger than ours. They're just screaming louder than us :)
