On further inspection, of the FA* 28-70mm I noticed some dirt and dust specks in the front and back inside the lens. I've attached photos trying to show the issue, and I am also lowering the price of the lens and the lot by $100 each. The image quality does not appear to be affected much, and I will post an image album here shortly.
Also, I forgot to mention this in the original listing for the 28-70mm, but you can see in the attached image, one of the metal parts that keeps the lens hood on is slightly damaged/bent. The lens hood is able to be attached fine, although there is a bit of resistance when locking it in. When I purchased the lens, it was already like that, so I'm not sure how that happened.

Here's a picture of the flash. ---------- Post added 02-20-19 at 22:26 ----------
I also added pictures of the 80-200mm lens earlier. Apologies, I did not have them available when I created the post, and was unable to edit attachments until now.

I'm selling all my old Pentax gear...much of it was acquired on here previously, but I haven't really been into photography for a few years, and am hoping to find all this stuff a good new home. I've listed everything individually below with a price if you wish to just buy individual items, but I'm willing to part with the whole lot (everything included) for $1300. Items Pentax-FA* 80-200mm F/2.8 - $600 - comes with original Pentax pouch Pentax-FA* 28-70mm F/2.8 - $300 - comes with replacement case, hood does not fit in case, has some dirt and dust specs in lens (see pictures later in thread). Pentax-FA* 24mm F/2 - $340 - comes with original Pentax pouch Pentax-FA 43mm F/1.9 - $300 - comes with original Pentax pouch Pentax-M 50mm F/1.7 - $40 - with original Pentax case Pentax K-7 body - $100 - crack on top LCD screen, spare battery included Pentax AF-540FGZ flash - $125 - with original Pentax pouch
Extras:
Old diffuser
Lens cleaning equipment (pictured) Notes
1. All of the FA* lenses are used (I acquired them all on this site years ago), so they all have some scuffs. The glass appears clean on all of them (I think I cleaned them all maybe a couple of years ago). The lens hoods all attach fine, although it takes a bit of care to get them aligned right.
2. I noted that some of the pictures from the FA* 28-70mm were a bit blurry. I suspect that it's a combination of needing to adjust the settings on the K-7 as well as it just being an older body with a lower quality screen. The glass appears to be perfectly fine on the lens though. I'm happy to take more samples if requested.
I've attached pictures of most of the items, but there's a few more that I haven't attached (I'll try to get pictures of the flash and 80-200mm lens up in the next couple of days.. Shipping Services

No Returns. I'll be 100% honest and do everything possible to accommodate the seller, including taking additional pictures, videos, and samples (using a K-7) as requested.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that I have a spare battery for the K-7, which I'll throw in with the body or lot.

The pictures in posts #7 and #8 are great. They're very sharp and have plenty of color.

Pentax SMC DA* Series 50-135mm f/2.8 ED IF SDM Asking Price
715 Item Location
San Diego, CA, USA Item Description
I purchased this lens about a year ago, Aug 2009. The lens is in excellent condition with no major cosmetic blemishes, nicks, or scratches. The lens has a little dust on the outside, but the glass is clean overall. It comes with hood, lens bag, and original packaging (including manual and serial number card). I tested that the lens is working, right after I took pictures of it.
I'm selling the lens since I do not use it a whole lot. Are you the original owner of the item being sold?

I talked with Pentax support over chat, and the solution was to send my lens in, of course. I took a picture of the serial number on the lens, so I'll keep everything documented.
I brought up the fact that I read that a lot of people were having this problem with SDM lenses, and the lady told me that there was an issue that happened with older cameras. I have a K-7 though...and although all these reports of problems doesn't represent those who haven't had issues, it does seem like there is something going on...

Thanks for the advice. I didn't have a single problem with this lens before, and I wasn't even aware there was an issue with SDM lenses, until mine stopped working and I started doing some research. I've taken off and put back on the lens numerous times, played around with the zoom and focus rings, toggled the AF/MF switch...all to no avail. My lens has not budged since I started trying to use it over the weekend. I have two other prime lenses that work without a hitch though...

I've just started experiencing this problem in my DA* 50-135. I last used the lens maybe 2 months ago...and when I took it out over the weekend, no autofocus. I think I eliminated all other possibilities, and only after my lens stopped working did I find out there was an issue with the DA* 50-135...
I bought my lens brand new in August 2009, so I should be under warranty still, but I haven't talked to Pentax yet.
