This shot was taken 4/28/07 at 9:08 PM just as the last rays of light were visible. Venus can be seen at the top following the Sun to the horizon. This truly is Golden Hour!

There seems to be a learning curve when using the K10 unless you are shooting RAW... I wonder if that had anything to do with the ranking? It took me a few days to figure the camera out and get past the learning curve. Now, I doubt I could shoot better photos with ANY camera. And I'm slowly learning PP with RAW files. :)

I have taken many beautiful shots with th kit lens. As long as you use it within its limitations, it can produce some stunning images. I have several examples in my gallery.

I uploaded to the other forum after resizing... Unfortumately uploading the photo as an attachment resized it for me to around 500 pixels. :(

The attaching process seems to resize automatically. :(

It could be one of those Sears lenses... There seems to be millions of them circulating around.

Question about overcast nature photography

I took the family out to Silver Falls yesterday for a picnic, hiking and photography yesterday because the weather man said it was going be warm and sunny. Well, it was overcast all day and my pictures all turned out really blah. Are there any special considerations for overcast nature and landscape photography to get better contrast and color? I was really disapointed with my results yesterday...

K10d shake reduction

I used an H1 until I bought the K10 also. The shake reduction works miles better on the Sony but I haven't noticed the Pentax shake reduction adding blurriness in any of my shots.

The zoom button doesn't work because you have manual zoom lenses on the K10D.

I did say after I looked at his particular photos that they were fine, but my general statement was for everyone to be aware of the children on the boards.

So you are saying that because I don't want my kids looking at blatant nude photos on the internet that I am uptight and overprotective? What ever...

I just took a look at your "porn photos"... Nice pictures. My kids can even look at them. I think I would have used a touch more light though... That's just me.

I am not uptight by any means, but as a parent of two children that are interested in photography, you must be aware that there are minors that frequent the photography sites.

Using Bounced Daylight..

That's great advice Ben. For those that haven't seen that technique used, here's a shot I did in the setting sun and used a piece of white poster board to bounce soft light onto the shaded side of the face. I think it makes a WORLD of difference!
