That is excellent news -- half my SHDC cards work in my K20D but not my K-01. I am away from home but looking forward to trying them next month in the hope they all work.

He is saying it would be hard to sell the legendary FA31 having one right there in his hand that he could keep (that he would be too tempted to keep it). I'm with him -- I never thought I'd get the FA31 but $2k for the K-3 + FA31 + extended warranty... That is really tempting.

Mine fell off too while on vacation and I used a couple drops of superglue to put it back on. I was worried about it possibly affecting removal in case of need to repair but decided to glue it anyway. The glue is on top of the original glue so in theory it should still separate with whatever method they would use at the factory (heat?).

Today I received an email from Amazon with a link to confirm that I still wanted to wait on my order. I am leaning towards ordering from B&H in a couple days.

I ordered a yellow one on 1/15 after it went out of stock and it hasn't been shipped yet. I sent one status inquiry which bumped up my shipping speed but the end range of the delivery is tomorrow (2/26). In the meantime, I ordered a black kit (with 40mm) as a present and it shipped quickly from B&H for $359. I'm tempted to cancel and go black. I just hope Amazon doesn't let me down -- if they cancel after B&H runs out (or the prices runs up) it will be a sad day.

Here, here. I was just coming back to say the same. Although after getting half way through, it is a fun and entertaining read. How could they slag on the "1985 Mosler Consulier GTP" though? Maybe I just like boxy cars :).
edit: Ah! The top shot of the Mosler Consulier GTP is deceiving. It is one fugly car: http://media.collegepublisher.com/media/paper274/stills/3b7xa3x3.jpg |

Don't you have autobytel or something similar up there? It doesn't seem like they can get as low as those that want to play hard ball but at least you'll cut out all that sitting around and waiting.

If you search around, you'll find some card readers that can display out to the TV. Some may have VGA ports too. I'd look around eBay, DealExtreme.com and so forth.
To be honest though, if the displays are bad enough that you can't use them as monitor they don't sound like good photo displays! Should be fun though.

But:
So they don't use the standard eBay/PayPal checkout which MS cashback requires. It would be an insane deal if they did! I'm pondering selling off some lenses and picking up the FA limited trio. The DA 35mm macro is tempting but I want a full frame DSLR soon so not that interested no mater how good it is.

I would speculate yes but only if you have a theoretical/magical TC that has no impact on image quality itself and the magnified ratio doesn't go beyond the resolution limits of the lens. Finding this magical TC is a problem.
One way of thinking about it is say you wear glasses and your perscription is some value X. Unfortunately, your optometrist is all out of X lenses and you're in a rush so he stacks two Y lenses that are the equivalent of X. Do you think the additional glass/plastic would affect your view of the world (looking straight ahead)?
Again, wild speculations here but since nobody has replied :).

Finding inexpensive lens caps can be a hassle. Local prices are usually high (I don't blame them) and eBay sources usually list one or two and by the time you've brought enough caps the shipping fees are killing the deal. After quite a bit of searching, I found Deal Extreme. Their prices on lens caps are quite low and the shipping is free. They do come via Hong Kong though so one must be patient to wait on the postal system.
I've brought both the cheapest lens caps offered at Deal Extreme and the slightly more expensive models. Comparing the two, I prefer the build and handling of the slightly cheaper model.
Examples: DealExtreme: $2.28 49mm Digital Camera Lens Cover DealExtreme: $3.37 49mm Digital Camera Lens Cover
The good news is the prices stay reasonable for 72mm ($3.87 but only a model like the more expensive 49mm is offered -- I wish they had the other one) and there are quantity discounts. I was able to outfit all my lenses without spending a fortune. Finally, I believe the free shipping is world wide.
Does anyone else have any other sites or sources?

Sent you a PM (interested in a few things but unsure if you want to sell the body accessories together with the body or will separate them out).

eBay triggers (16 channel model) from magic_trigger. Few misfires on rare occasions but otherwise fine. They fit my needs for now.

Wireless:
$$$: Pocket Wizards
$$: Elicard/Alien Bees/? remote triggers
$: eBay 16 channel triggers from magic_trigger or gadgetinfinity (gadget_infinity?)
Wired:
PC-sync cable, hotshoe flash adapter (w/ pc-sync socket)
The $ wireless option will be close to the wired option but likely will not be as reliable. But it may be more convenient depending on how you work.
edit: I think Big Dave was pointing out how to test if there is a voltage issue with your flash and modern bodies but I believe the Metz 48 AF1 is relatively new and should not have any issue.
