Hi, just back from my second ever fashion show. The show is FS:X and is a charity show run by the St.Andrews univeristy. It was held in the Curtis Fine paper mill which has been empty for years. Was a really great show and i ended up with some interesting pics. The venue was pretty cold which the keen eyed amongst you might notice in some of the pics :D
Shots were taken with K-7 and tamron 17-50 f2.8 at iso1600.
Having taken hundreds of boring full length shots of each model i got the chance to mess around. Here are some of the ones i like:
comments and criticism very welcome.. its the only way ill learn:p

Have just been over the sensor with a blower and its seems to have gone, only a few smaller bits left in its place.
Strangely the dust mapping option on the k7 is now shaded and unavailable, why would this be?
thanks

Hi, i am having trouble with a fairly large piece of something appearing on my pictures.
I am using a k-7 and have run a couple of sensor cleaning protocols which cleared up some particles registering on the sensor test. However the original piece of dust is still visible in photographs. The dust does not seem to be present with other lenses, is it possible this is in the lens?
Any help is much appreciated,
thanks

I purchased the grip a couple of months back, was out of stock. Just received a refund, so good company but under-stocked.

Hi, the tree one is just out of focus unfortunately, need to go back and try again. Most shots were on the pentax-fa 50mm f1.4, while the last one was taken using the tamron 17-50 f.2.8

Hi, just been exploring around me.
Dunino den is a small celtic site about 5miles from my uni. The site is covered in carvings in the trees and stones and has a strange eery quality to it. Def. worth a visit to anyone in the fife area.
Here are a few pics, comments and criticism welcome, (exexpt for the last one, which i really like :P ) |

Hi, just received my first 35mm slr and have a couple of questions.
Externally this looks very good. But the inside has something strange. The black sheet which i presume obscures the film untill the shutter is flicked has several small lines accross it. Are these normal? will they leak light?
Similarly there is a small amount of play in the rear cover not a huge amount but i assume there should be none?
here is a phone pic of the lines i am concerned about:
any help or advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

HI, looking for a replacement for the kit lens on an ist* dl and on a K-7. How do these two comparably priced lenses compare?
Does the tamrons continuous aperture make it a better lens?
I much prefer the look of the sigma and the 70mm end would be useful but i would be grateful to hear some experiences on either lens.
Thanks

hi again.
Unfortunately the shoot was over the weekend and as i was out town someone else was brought in for it.
Just to reply to a few comments on here, the site is a ruin from the 1200's and everything was conducted with the respect and restraint.
Think i'll go out there soon to get some shots even without the models :p
thanks

Hi, have been asked to do a fashion shoot with a Halloween theme. I have also been asked to decide the timing myself depending on light.
My only lighting option is a flashgun.
The graveyard is part of a larger ruin so may be able to get some bounce from walls etc.
What are you opinions/experiences on this topic?
I was thinking that early evening would be a good start and give me a range of lighting conditions right up to full darkness.
I have a couple of manuel primes but was going to use the kit 17-55mm as with ttl monitoring from the flash it would be easiest.
Please get back to me as soon as possible.
Thankyou
Fraser

Hi, been shooting pentax for a couple of years now. Im starting to want an upgrade from my ist*dl and have christmans/birthday comeing up:p
So untill recently i thought the k20d was perfect, found a body new for around £460 which seems really good. Was dreaming on ebay at k-7s when i saw that you can get them for £760 delivered from hongkong, a saving of almost £300 to amazon etc !!
Now the question is this, are these genuine? can then be fake? really does seem too good to be true.
An advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks for the feedback, as for the sharpness, was using maual focus for the planes etc, as the metering on the camera wasnt up to it, and then with the closer subject i struggled (with sunglasses on :P)
