Here is the link for testing series http://www.webwrx.sk/clients/flash.jpg
As you can see in description there is virtually no difference in external flash.
Reason for that is that close range and dark the internal flash is so powerful and useless that it makes it's own light, shadows and overexposure ...
If remote trigger can solve this then I am buying it now. Problem is how is it with exposure and shutter speed? Does it just fire into the wild? Or does it somehow compensate with k20d ?

Thank you.
It makes this however completely unusable solution for me and I wll buy some RF remote trigger. I have also created 3 photos for you to see that it just isnt some sort of flash but it is full power flash

That is what I have done. it doesnt matter what if choose Off in Flash in Wireless Mode.
custom menu, option 29. Flash in Wireless Mode, option 2. Off (Fires builtin flash as controller in Wireless mode).
It still flashes and makes direct flash.

Hi,
I am trying to use met 48f remotely and it works ok.
Problem is that it also fires normal flash, it doesnt matter what i choose Off in Flash in Wireless Mode.
Is the normal? I thought that normal flash doesnt have to be fired if I want to fire ONLY external flash.
Normal flash makes a lot of direct shadows which I dont want.
Is this normal behaviour?

Is Pentax really trying to get all people away from Pentax?
I mean, I love Pentax I have had DS, k10d, k20d and was planning on getting k7 and also have some lenses like 43mm ltd, 16-50mm and again was planning on getting some longer lenses but ...
... they lost biggest advantage over C/N/S brand and that's cheaper lenses comparing to those manufacturers ... So why would you buy Pentax with this insane prices when you can get more popular N/C/S and lenses same price or cheaper ... It doesnt make any sense to me.
If I was to sell 16-50mm today I would make around 300 pounds more on it, 43mm ltd would be at least 200 more pounds than originally bought ... Selling k20d + flash and manual bodies would probably give me enough money to think about 5d k2 or sony a850 ... I dont think it is right ...

But that is very specific kind of photography do you agree? As well as wedding photography. This camera is aimed at outdoor activity and frankly you dont need flash in these situations ...

Come on, how many people will use flash and that sync? I am trying to avoid flash use at all costs as it degrades photography ... I am sure that sometimes you simply have to use is you can still HSS cant you?

Pentax K-7 Digital Camera - Hands-On Preview - The Imaging Resource!
Compared to the K20D, the new Pentax K-7 feels faster and more responsive in virtually every respect. One area of particular improvement appears to be its AF system.
We don't have a quantitative measurement of AF performance in our test suite, and as of this writing have been able to make only limited and fairly unscientific comparisons between the prototype K-7 and K20D, but our strong subjective impression has been that the Pentax K-7 achieves focus much more quickly in difficult situations of low light and/or low subject contrast than does the K20D. This contributed greatly to the sense of responsiveness we felt when using the Pentax K-7.

Everyone knows what Pentax's disadvantage is but everyone knows what the advantages are. Simple thing is that for hiking, travel photography and simillar there is no better camera than k20d for me. If you want to do wedding that;s different type of photography and frankly if I was doing wedding I wouldnt go for anything less than FF nikon or canon (possibly nikon).
Listing things which Pentax cant do is listing which they cant do for your need, k20d is perfect camera for my needs and it has traveled dozen of countries already like Morocco, Central Europe, UK, Germany, Italy and so on and as I said for me camera is perfect. Would I like faster focusing? I would. Would I like better high iso? I would but just get back 5 year, 10 years and realize what we have been using for weddings, travel and other types of photography and maybe you will get the picture.

21mm is much better focal length, not better but more usable I think. 35mm would be best but then is not that small..

Excellent post. I have to agree on this with you, if you want same wide angle for APS-C as for FF you have to pay more and resolution is worse. Excellent 31mm or 43mm become much longer with worse resolution on APS-C.
It simply is much more difficult to make excellent APS-C lens than FF lens, you have to correct result a lot to remove CA and distortion and you lose this soul of the lens like 31mm, 43mm lenses ... Which of new lenses is same quality ? Answer: None.
If Pentax decides to ignore FF market I might change brand next few years for brand which will offer under $1700 FF body.
The only way to stay with Pentax is if Pentax pulls gem of DSLR, something really marvellous and working 100%. I mean quick focusing, high iso , more FPS and legendary Pentax ergonomy (which they have already)
That's my opinion.

come on, they simply decided to do small and cheap camera for P&S coming to DSLR world.
They just cant do it right for all people, please get a grip.
With amount of complains here I think Pentax should sell DSLR as parts and you would build own camera as PCs.
