Thanks for the comments. This one was the best shot from a series I took with the setting sun in different positions. Tried getting the sun behind the masts but they didn't turn out as good as I thought they would. Waiting for the sun to drop behind the tree line was a race against the park's closing time. I won, by a couple of minutes.
The Dove is a full-scale recreation of the 17th century original that brought the first settlers to Maryland in 1634. It was lost at sea shipping goods back to England in 1635.

Anybody know of an Exif editor that will allow adding aperture, shutter speed, flash info, etc for scanned-in photos?
Free would be preferable. :)

Thanks for the responses. Knowing what the three color dials were for was my primary concern which have been answered. Just got a 6x6 negative carrier for it on ebay last night for my C330. Now I just need a 75mm lens - came with a 50mm lens and 35mm carrier.

I did some calculations a while back and determined that at 100% efficiency, it would take approximately 2200 AMPS at 240 volts to fully charge a Telsa within the same time it takes to fully fuel my current gas powered vehicle.
Conclusion: The future of battery-only powered vehicles dominating our highways is a myth.

Just got a Saunders D6700 enlarger from e-bay and my darkroom experience so far is zero, so I have no idea how to use it. Anybody have a copy of the manual? My expert Googling has turned up nothing so far.

Got the lens the other day and tried it today. Just by looking at the results I can see a stark improvement over the Tamron, especially at the high-end of the zoom range. Will have to do some side-by-side test shots at various settings in the near future.

Got one of those Aquapac bags so I could bring the K10D into the ocean for some vacation shots. Its a VERY tight fit getting the camera in, and turning the knobs and dials is pretty much impossible, so best put it on an auto/semi auto mode. You can actually look thru the viewfinder (with some effort) and if using a zoom lens, be prepared to make a whole bunch of 1 or 2 degree turns :)
Here's a sample shot - the light circles are water drops on the bag:

I have the Tamron 70-300mm LD DI and was thinking of getting the subject lens but was wondering if there would be that much of a difference in results. Any thoughts?

no luck on XP either. Pluged in camera and nothing happens. Either its a bad cable or the camera wont work this function.
is firmware 1.12 so that's not it either.

got my daughter an istD and tried the remote assistant with no joy:
Vista 32 bit
downloaded remote assistant v1 from Pentax site.
Put in the USB, turn on camera and nothing happens, no indication anything was plugged into computer. Start remote assistant and it acts as though no cameras are installed
can anybody help?

Took this pic this afternoon (cropped) and found a purple haze outlining the bird. Sun was to the left side. Any ideas as to what caused the purple outline?
