Not taken with a Pentax, but hey...when you see this much green in January you do what you can. |

The appeal would be that they are still fine cameras that are available for decent prices.
I like to let the idiots who chase the latest and greatest and need to buy a new camera every year keep the company in business while I am out taking pictures.

I agree with Frank B.
You don't need to be a "Pro" to have an opinion...at least not in the real world.
I am no pro, but I shoot RAW because with Lightroom it really requires no extra effort and the abiltiy to flag, tag, and perform multiple operations on many pics at once is super convenient.
I enjoy PP'ing to a certain extent, so it works for me.
Why argue?

Shoot whatever you like, but if you're a pixel peeping whiner, switch to RAW before you show up here and complain.

You're lucky they're offering you a discount after you foolishly let your warranty expire.
Quit whining.

Looks like that's a swing bridge and the hut is where the operator worked.
Well, at least it does to me.

Thanks Daacon and Steve.
Yes there is a gradient effect applied to the sky, but I can't take credit for PP'ing those pics.
I used the "Dark and Stormy" Lightroom preset, which was created by a Pentax Forum member named K McCall.

What a waste of time.
No sense in quibbling over the difference between "Really good" and "Really really good"

I consider myself a total rookie at this, but I thought I'd take a shot.
I used Lightroom to do the following:
Bump the exposure up two stops
Add some vignetting
Used the adjustment brush to add sharpness to the cat's head
Did some split toning...darkened the reds in the shadows.
Edited to add: I did use some noise reduction in an attempt to rid the image of all the blue pixels. |
