Hi! I am a 78 year-old married Australian who has been taking photographs for over 60 years, the majority with Pentax SLRs. My first was the original Spotmatic, my last film camera the automatic focus SFX (aging eyesight, you see). For the last few years I've enjoyed using the first of Pentax's digital SLRs, the istD. Fifty years ago I built a home darkroom and processed colour and monochrome films and prints until seven years ago. The digital "darkroom", camera, computer and A3 inkjet printer, has made photo-production much easier, without the need for odourous chemical baths and darkness.
We have four married daughters and ten grandchildren (among whom four are Pentax DSLR owners) and we're never short of portraiture subjects.
I've been retired for 22 years after working in the newspaper and printing world, followed by 28 years as teacher of photo-reproduction processes at the Melbourne College of Printing and Graphic Arts.
