Wow- that reminded me just how fragile life is. Thank God the outcome wasn’t worse.
Thank you for sharing.

Thanks Geoff..... I took quite a few images to play with at some stage (only a slow notebook with me on the trip).... tried some pixle shift ones as well.... all some 15 minutes after sunset
a pixle shift... iso 1,000, f11, o.5s....
Hoping for some nice clouds over the next few days.
With respect to the Robyn.... they are in a lovely, semi remote spot.... so I'm going to take a chair, tripod, some beer and sit there for a while with more megapixels on the branch.... all very zen anyhow.... i'm using a bird calling app on my phone to try to bring them in.

Hi all. Grüezi (Greetings) from Switzerland. I’m Sarah. The only Pentax I currently own, is a Pentax ME Super. I mainly use it with a SMC A 50mm f/1.7 MF lens. I am curious to test out new lenses and to learn more about this camera from others’ experiences. I enjoy taking portraits of people, and landscapes (using other cameras too). I got introduced to this forum by r0ckstarr (Thank you). It’s nice to meet you all.

Checking the histogram of the second (very red) picture shows the red channel severely clipped. Set your histogram display on the camera to show RGB channels not luminance when photographing rich colours like this. Then you can ensure they are not clipped.
just reducing the brightness of the reds brings out a little more detail in the flower as below

The RAAF seems to like them for trainers and spotters!
I've heard some hairy stories about the Pilatus Porter used on mail runs, landing on very short strips and dodging trees. ---------- Post added 12-05-19 at 11:18 PM ---------- A Superb Fairy-wren in Dubbo NSW.

Indigo bunting, in their nesting range, are what are called "edge species." They preferentially nest in stands of tall trees but very near a clearing. They go out in the clearing to forage, and the males go there to sing/display. The primary area I've seen them here is where a high power line with very tall pylons cuts through a forest/woodland. The males come out of the trees and perch on the power lines to sing, way up there against a bright blue sky. This habit and habitat is as good a way to identify them as seeing the color with binoculars.
