Hi neighbor,
Only two "recent" model from nikon can scan 6x9, it is LS-8000 and 9000. They had a very old model that can handle even 4x5 I think but so old and so rare.
the 4000, 5000, V... can scan 35mm or aps film with a adapter. If you need to scan medium format and you are on a budget, you better find a flatbet, like epson v500 or v600.
But I assure you that for 35mm, this is the best you can get beside drum scan. Or maybe some people find the minolta 5400 better, but this is close to what is best for 35mm.
Here you see that a comparaison of flatbed vs dedicated desktop film scanner. I came to this site because I was looking for a flatbed for 4x5. Drum scan is affordable on ebay, but they are huge, some need 240v, some even need their own plug. Not a regular electric plug.

clearly, the 35mm is better. Also for scanning 35mm it is better to use this scanner as it keeps the film very flat compare to a ls-8000. The film on the ls-8000 or ls-9000 is put on a plastic adapter, the film is not totally flat. With this scanner the film on the feeder is very flat, since it kinda pull the film. Anyway that my experience.

Thaks for the support.
I actually also have the nikon coolscan V. I bought the coolscan V used thinking it might be better than the 4000 and I concluded for me that I don't see any difference. I need to sell one of them. Maybe I will sell the coolscan V if this model is a better seller.

I want to sell my nikon coolscan 4000 ed,
I bought it used, maybe use 10 times. The original owner use it for 30 times he said, it's in great shape. I take picture if someone is interested.
slide feeder to scan negatif up to 6 frames, flat film holder, slide mount adapter and manual and Cd. Software is useless because nikonscan 4 is more up to date and better. You can download it in nikon website.
As this item is quit big I will only ship to Canada and USA. unless you want to pay for big shipping expense.

A very nice zoom, outstanding sharpness.
i included two sample that I took with it. This lens is really nice.
the lens is great condition, no oil, no fungus, a bit of dust if you use a torch to check, aperture is snappy.
the macro filter is not picture, but I will picture when someone is interested.
the fly pictured is taken with that filter.

I don't need it, but he didn't manifest interest yet, i got a fellow pentaxforums from another city that says he interested. We'll see.
I can sell on ebay, but I find much of the money is lost on ebay fees, shipping, paypal fees. Local transaction is always best. Unless I can't sell it locally then I have no choice to ressort on Ebay.

thanks for the info. I didn't know about the serial number.
for me it's clear they are different physically. The silver on the focus rings vs black on the 2nd version.
Focus ring is quite different, M-Version is better build, 2nd is more like plastic...
I was planing to sell to someone locally. since it doesn't hold much value, maybe sell it for 45$.
Fair price for me and him, right?
I'm asking just to be sure to get the right value. Don't want to sell something that worth really a lot for a lot less...

Hi, I'm late to the party.
I just noticed the price of the k5 on BH, then I checked the d7000 of nikon.
it's 1599 (k5) vs 1199(d7000)
I'm not saying that k5 is not worth that kinda of money. But from a consumer view, Why would I pay 400$ more for a k5?
I thought pentax would be smarter for the price. If they want to be competitive they have to better price or a least the same price.
I think I gonna sell all my pentax gear and buy a d7000
