It became even less practical after our daughter was born, but it's still fun to get out and run and I had some downtime drive the Mazda for the first time in months.
It's got a leaky rear main and an exhaust leak, but I had an absolute blast giving it an Italian Tune Up.

I had no idea……I may have to track one down to replace my “sick” FA 35.

I can't disagree, as my KP is my travel camera for that very reason.
My film cameras are often reserved for subjects that I've already scouted and my "keep-rate" is fairl high because I've already shot most subjects 1-2 times with something digital before lugging the film equipment out.
The modern cell phone is probably the best point-n-shoot ever made, so this new Pentax might be a hard for me to justify.

Honestly, I think it depends on the features for me. My Pentax 645 is really the only film camera I need and I shoot an average of one roll a month with it.
Definitely not interested if the resulting camera resembles a Holga.
I might be interested if it has a relatively fast, fixed focal length lens that is backed by a good auto focus system.

That F-832 is tempting….I wonder how my MacBook Air and Pentax 645 would fit

I have a similar box full of filters and filters and one of them is a tiffen yellow.
Pretty useless on digital, but it’s quite impressive on b&w film and I slap it on my 645 whenever I feel the need to shoot tri-x.

People are paying insane amounts of money for the them these days, so holding on to it was probably a wise choice.

Wowza......That's a pretty amazing deal. Some of those sale prices that make me (almost) wish I hadn't ordered an M1 Air in July. I haven't really had any performance issues with the Air, but it does get a bit toasty at times.

Funny you mention that.......My weekend plans involve going to Home Depot and bringing one home to install myself (probably should just pay them to deliver and install).
The the heated drying function hasn't worked on ours in a while, but we are doing a LOT more dishes and hand drying them is starting to becoming a mild inconvenience.

From what I gather, the expanded metal was common in the 1950's....They'd use rock board (primitive and brittle drywall that came in 2' wide sheets), then the expanded metal, and finally the plaster on top. Our walls are nearly 1" thick in places, or 2.5 CM for those using metric.
Fortunately our asbestos test came back negative, but many homes built with technique had asbestos mixed into the plaster.
Eeekk! I hope you didn't end up with any long term side effects after that. I'm incredibly paranoid about the dust right now.

We knew an old house would be expensive, but it hasn't been terrible.
Plaster can be a pain and I struggle to find studs, but the sound deadening in our little 50's ranch is AMAZING. My wife is pregnant with our first and she's due under 2 weeks, so we didn't have the luxury of finding someone qualified to deal with plaster. Our contractor had the new drywall hung in several hours, so hopefully he'd finished this week.....

I "was" thinking about ditching my KP and buying a K1, but an attic mounted A/C unit had a different plan and we're acquiring a new dining room ceiling. I really like(d) the KP, but I find the crop factor to be a bit annoying after I've been shooting with my film cameras for a while.
We had issues finding a contractor that was able to meet our timeline and had experience with lathe/plaster, so the whole ceiling is being replaced with drywall.

Ha, using skylight filters as "free lens caps" is always an option.
I've always liked having a CPL handy, but B&W filters are a new(er) experience for me.
$5 (+ half my lunch break) was a good deal for the Yellow & Red, as those two would have been closer to $50 had I bought them new. Maybe I'll finish the pro-pack of TMax 400 that's been in my fridge since last fall. :)

I picked up an box containing a couple dozen used filters today. Most most are oddball sizes that I don't need, but $5 bought the entire lot and happened to contain four that I wanted for my film kit (Red, Yellow, Green, and an ND2).

I've got a Crosstrek Sport, with the 2.5L, but I've since assumed that road trip was a mathematical error. Most fill ups are usually VERY close to the EPA ratings, but driving like a maniac and towing my small utility trailer can skew the numbers greatly.
EPA Rating:
2.5-liter SUBARU BOXER - 34 mpg hwy and 27 mpg city

Very subjective, but my .02:
I work for an IT consulting company and I've had few positive experience with the HDMI baluns....They often seem temperamental at lengths over ~15' and inevitably someone accidentally unplugs the power supply.
A long HDMI cable is almost always cheaper (on Amazon) and doesn't require bulky power supplies or boxes, plus the "thin" HDMI cables aren't much thicker than an ethernet cable.
Anything longer than 35' and a wireless option is my go-to....

A Kalt air release showed up today....I've never been very comfortable with portraits, but I figure I'll be burning through a lotta film when the baby comes in August.

We bought and EGO mower a few weeks ago and I'd rate it 7.5/10. It's light, quiet, and the battery usually has 20% remaining when I'm finished with our 1/3 acre yard.
The only downside is that it tends to "bounce" over imperfections in the yard far more than heavy gasoline mower that it replaced.

I’m supposed to dislike Apple, as an IT professional, but they really do make a nice product.
They’re expensive, but they do an exceptional job at selling a platform.
The ability to answer a video call on the phone and seamlessly transfer it to the computer, while simultaneously resuming an internet search that I’d started on another device is quite impressive.
