Interestingly enough, I hopped on this forum looking for a deal on a K-3, because my K-5 started doing this very same thing last night. I was out in a modest rain. I didn't feel the need for an umbrella or poncho, so I don't think it was heavy. I noticed water in my top LCD, and eventually it was as if the camera were permanently set to exposure lock (* star on the screen) but it was over exposed at that. Nothing I could do in Av mode would allow the shutter to shoot faster than 1/4. I had to shoot in full manual mode and video only.
I attached a photo of my top lcd with the water in it.
I'm hoping it will go back to normal once everything dries up.

Hmm. The sticky I read mentioned the sound when the camera was turning on. It was also multiple pages of no additional info so it wasn't as clear. Thanks Adam. Sorry for clogging up the forum.

I noticed in the past couple of days my camera is making some weird noises. I came to this forum and I see the stickied post at the top, and while it sounds related, it's not the same. I've owned my K-5 for almost 2 years and this is something I've never noticed until now. Here is a link to a video that demonstrates what is happening. The camera has a 5 year warranty so it's not a huge issue, but a pain in the ass to be without my camera (it goes everywhere with me). BTW, the camera is off in this video. I would think anything that is supposed to move regarding shake reduction shouldn't move when the camera isn't powered on.
If anyone can give some insight, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks,

I watched the Craigslist ad for this package and when I decided to jump yesterday he told me it was sold. Nice score.

Do you have any references? Id buy it right now, but you just joined a week ago and this is your first post. Makes me kind of hesitant.

I live on a tight budget and tight space constraints. I spend most of my time on the road living out of a backpack and use photography as a means of documenting my travels. As such, I only care a small netbook with me. Over the past few months my photography has gotten better and better and I'm starting to learn the limitations of what I can do on camera and what I need to do post picture taking. However I'm limited by system resources so I can't be running stuff like photoshop. I'm currenty using picasa as a means to adjust my color and shadows and whatnot. I'm wondering what other people suggest I use to help adjust my photos. I'm really looking for a good noise reduction process that would work with my constraints. Also hoping to start experimenting with HDR soon.
Any help would be appreciated.

I just picked up an SB24 for what I think to be a pretty decent price. I'm using it on my K2000 with no problems in manual, but I can't use rear curtain sync. I imagine it's because of the nikon on pentax. If I went wireless or sync cable, would I be able to?
