"Just release the Pentax K1 III with same tech as K3 III, e.g 101 AF points and UHS-II, don't reinvent the wheel , release the camera in 2024 , keep your customers happy and preserve your market share for the future."
YES!! Except be sure to keep all good stuff from the K-1ii - GPS, Moonlander, Illumination lights etc.

The software that Pentax provides contains Silkypic components but is not silkypix which is a commercially available product. The software pentax provides handles raw files just fine. Are you sure that the file you were trying to process was a Raw file (either DNG or PEF)? The Pentax software is called Digital Camera Utility and can be downloaded from the Pentax site. It should be adequate for your needs. There are several free but complex programs which many people like - DarkTable and Rawtherapee are favorites. Try DCU again.

It is fun to see the little Q used so well. The photos are colorful and fun, not in the least offensive. Hope Lerolls continues to share here, I have never been impressed by unsollicited criticism of other people's photos.

This was a positive report on the camera. I do not understand the instant quibbling about things posters do not agree with. He gave an honest review of what seemed important to him. That is all that should be asked for from a camera review.

The 16-50 SDM has always been one of my favorite lenses, since about 2010. It has accompanied me on many adventures hiking and camping throughout the desert Southwest. I have had no problem with the lens but many users do report problems with the af quitting or acting up so there are questions about the SDM reliability. If it does act up it can easily be converted to just screwdrive. I have no personal experience doing that. I have both the SDM and PLM and I am torn between them. The PLM is a modern linear motor driven lens which focues quidkly and well but it is noticeably heavier and larger than the SDM. Good luck with your decision.
