I do cycle touring and if its a walk around + landscape lens, mostly outdoors, I think the FA31ltd may just do both.
Otherwise, Voightlander 20/3.5, Pentax M20/4 and a FA50/1.4 (added advantage of 49mm filters for both)
If you like wider, a 14mm, 12mm like the Samyang 14/2.8, Laowa 12/2.8 and a 35mm or 50mm. The UWA will increase the size of the kit fast with the filter holders and filters.

The Q was only popular in Japan.
If there's a possibility of a new release, it will.have.to be able.to capture that same market of a.quirky, fun system camera.
With 1" sensor compacts already offering very good technical capability and compact size for their price, trying to compete in this.segment will be futile. It needs to be a fad camera

Get all of them.
They all are nice when used to their strengths.
Often, some are wonderfully small and portable even when they may not be a resolution champ.

I think AF-S works best for the adapter so far.
A part of me is very stingy with battery usage, so I don't like how AF-C uses more battery life.
Thank you

With the FA77ltd A7309063 by pinholecam02, on Flickr
This lens has always been a joy to use.
A lens bordering on a 50mm and a 85mm in usage and versatility in such a compact size. A7308849 by pinholecam02, on Flickr A7309002 by pinholecam02, on Flickr
On the adapter, then lens works flawlessly.
AF is good and rather fast and accuracy is there.
I'd say that the lens sweet spot is usually f2.5-f2.8 where it has this big jump in sharpness to be like that of a 50mm stopped down to the same level, yet providing good shallow DOF for isolation. A7308912 by pinholecam02, on Flickr
The portability and utility of the FA77ltd with it on A7iii (with AF) is certainly one of my favorites for travel photography. A7309042 by pinholecam02, on Flickr A7309087 by pinholecam02, on Flickr

Thanks for the tip. I will try that out. :) ---------- Post added 11-06-2023 at 07:16 AM ----------
Thanks for your inputs.
I went back to check and silly me, the aperture is indeed wide open.
I must have varied between not fully mounting the lens and mounting the lens fully (my adapter is quite tight) which explained the varying results I was getting, sometimes sharper and often not as much. (aperture stops down if the lens is not fully mounted)
That explains the poorer results on the A7iii as well.
On the sensor stack, I have compared before the K24/2.8 on my modded A7 and an unmodded one and there is a difference in edge detail. (not as much as rangefinder lenses on the camera, but still there). No issues with narrower SLR lenses, so I think it depends on how acute the light is hitting the sensor stack.

With the Voigtlander 20/3.5 (K-mount)
Yes, the lens used to be available.
But the dwindling Pentax market share and general lack of interest in the Voigtlander lenses for K-mount made Cosina withdraw them from the market.
In those apsc days, I too had thought "Pentax have good equivalents, no need for these lenses"
But times change, FF came about and I was lucky to get hold of the 20/3.5.
This is an 'A' lens, so it works will full functionality of a aperture coupled lens on a Pentax camera. A7308466 by pinholecam02, on Flickr
However, on the Monster Adapter, its just a 'dummy' lens.
Full manual control.
Edit: It stays wide open if fully locked with the mount. So to stop it down, leave it a bit off from the locking (at own risk of course; my adapter is quite tight)
"So whats the point, to waste my reading time on this review?" you might ask... A7308478 by pinholecam02, on Flickr
For those who know me long enough on this forum, I'm the type who likes to focus on the real world use and get around things to get the photo done.
I'm not a "I am so great! my gear can't keep up with me!" sort of user.
The lens is 20mm (wide enough) and highly portable.
It mounts on the adapter, so of course its a viable candidate to bring as the wide lens even if its fully manual on the monster adapter. A7308415 by pinholecam02, on Flickr
On the adapter, set to 'M' mode and shoot manually.
There is no EXIF data stored unlike those lenses that the adapter firmware has info of.
Some things to note is again flare.
I do find that the adapter is more prone to flare than the lens on my Pentax camera.
But in most cases (as shown in the photos) its fine, or just shade with a hand or recompose a bit.
All said though, it was still worth bringing the lens since it was small, compact and I knew a family trip would limit me going out the shoot landscapes. A7308472 by pinholecam02, on Flickr

I am glad that the FA43ltd worked great at the gold mint.
AF worked well again and a non-issue.

Seems ok for me.
I found it a bit too tight a fov for a family trip even though I am very used to a 50mm as my walkaround for a photo (non-family trip).
CA wise, its not been an issue for my uses.
I often stop down 1 click (ie. f2, f2.5) as my "wide open" shooting for most lenses to get that bit better sharpness and CA resistance, so that also helps.
Strangely, 43ltd was my favorite limited lens on apsc, but I found it to be 'not here nor there' on FF (focal length and isolation wise).
31ltd and 77ltd really shines on FF for me. ---------- Post added 10-29-2023 at 01:15 PM ----------
Yes, its this one.
I passed on it in the early days of getting into cameras thinking like what some of the reviewers in your link thought (and I already had a DA15ltd and no FF was in the Pentax horizon)
But in the end, to me at least, "gear theory" is one thing, using is another
So glad I got one in K-mount when the chance came.
It works with full aperture control on a Pentax camera.

3 Lenses and an Adapter
To me, the technical aspects of an equipment is one thing, but its really the results and practical aspects that count in the end.
So a trip to Perth was a perfect way to get more real world use of the adapter and the nice small Pentax lenses.
I did not want to be bogged down with too much stuff, since I was also bringing family, cycling, 3 video cameras, 1 compact and the "Serious" camera.
The choice of lenses narrowed down really fast for highly functional and small.
Voigtlander 20/3.5, FA43ltd..... the short tele was between M135/3.5 and the FA77ltd.
I decided on the FA77ltd to make use of the AF and maximize my laziness... FA43LTD
Easily my most used lens with the wide normal focal length and fast aperture. A7308298 by pinholecam02, on Flickr A7308306 by pinholecam02, on Flickr A7308391 by pinholecam02, on Flickr A7308382 by pinholecam02, on Flickr A7308407 by pinholecam02, on Flickr
Shooting at large aperture or stopped down was not issue.
No issue with focusing speed too with the latest firmware and short focus throw of the FA43ltd.
In fact, I don't really missing anything due to slow focus and this never entered my mind using the adapter with this lens.

If K30 is significantly cheaper than K5iis, then K30.
I traded down from K5 and did not miss anything till the K1 came along.
Added benefit of being smaller and lighter.
Else, K5iis for sure for the better build.
I won't recommend anything before K5.
The sensor improved a lot from Kx to K5 period. (and largely stayed stagnant up till now)

I almost always travel with a 3 lens kit.
Especially so if I bike tour.
Pentax allows so many so options since the days of DSLR as compared to Canikon.
This has of course shifted somewhat with mirrorless and I often also opt to use a mix of small lenses on my A7 (which of course includes Pentax lenses)
The Pentax M20 and K24/2.8 are really highly portable (as is the Voigtlander 20/3.5).
These often form the starting point of my wide angle selection, which I add a wide or normal and a telephoto. The Bali Travel Kit by Pinholecam_01, on Flickr

I find AF-C to be not good, too much hesitancy and hunting in most cases.

I am certainly pleased that this aged 50mm that can be had cheap is as viable in photo taking as the 'latest and greatest', and I spent no extra money on it since I already have the lens. (not to mention that its the smallest AF DSLR 50/1.4 out there)

Mirrorless FF has been out for over 10 years, and prices of old lenses have stayed largely stable if not a bit lower.
The lenses that have gone up in prices only reflect increasing rarity and 'clout', in many cases, its less to do with how good they actually are.
In fact, some very cheap new MF lenses offer a better price+performance vs legacy lenses. (TTArtisan, and even some Voigtlanders come to mind )

Native Sony lenses it not is always a dilemma.
Many cheap options that have full AF capability like the Samyang lenses for very cheap.
The thing I distrust on Sony lenses is that if they move on, it will be hard to get their lenses to work.
At least the Pentax lenses work fully manually.
The other reason is the the Pentax lenses are already very good and I see no point chasing the latest stuff.

The thing about All legacy lenses (which also includes all brands) is that it has to be taken in context as a whole.
History (eg. first fast f2 design; 'Afghan girl lens', 'used by Bresson', etc), or best in its time, rarity, enough rich supporters, etc...
The Takumar 100/2 is very rare, not just expensive (I bought mine for a song and it was lying in the shop and I had to make sure I my eyes were not fooling a f2.8 with a f2 which I had never read of before )
Most 100mm lenses are good, and so is this one.
But if one is looking at the best performing lens (and cheap) then he is better off buying a Samyang, Laowa, TT Artisan, etc 20150329-DSC01119-1 by Pinholecam_01, on Flickr
The Takumar 58/2 is rather cheap, actually one of the rarer Pentax 50mms and I like it a lot. 20150524-DSC03194 by Pinholecam_01, on Flickr
