hi! i am thinking to buy a lacrosse charger (still hesitant about bc700 or bc900) but i have a pair of doubts, maybe you can help.
i know default charging current is 200mA, which is the best and the most recommended, but it is 12-14 hours to full charge. i dont usually have time problems, but sometimes i do and i need to charge them faster. my question is, with the other current options (till 1800mA), which is the fastest time to recharge eneloop (or any other model, eneloop for reference)? can you see the remaining time (it would be great to adjust current depending on the time you want, optimizing the current to the lowest possible)?
thank you!

thanks eruditass for the info, i will read about that
pxpaulx, also i do, i just want to know the number of shots and i don't want to translate other kind of data, just average use, like i will.
i won't discard votes either, i don't usually do that... unless i am looking for a specific result, which i am not doing, if i was, i will only let vote people with lithiums and only taking shots without flash or liveview enable, that would be "publishable" :)
thanks everybody for voting

hi, yeah, i mean loz self discharge batteries (like eneloops), sorry about that, i guess that will be the most used ones.
i will be new to AA batteries and i would like to know a little more about their common use.
so, do you recharge batteries before die? isn't that bad for them? then, every time, after use your camera, you take off batteries and recharge them again?
i also think that a high enough number of votes will give us an idea about normal use, different batteries, some video, liveview... people will use all this things and that's what it is interesting. i won't take only pictures, or only hdr or only video, i will do a mix, just like the poll :)
of course, i didnt expect defective cameras, but i will add the option, it may be interesting
so, dont be shy and vote, your results are interesting too.
pd. i dont get the biochemist thing, is that relevant? then i am physicist :)

hi! now there is many people with this camera (k-x) and i guess everybody tried low self discharge batteries, this is not about video, liveview, hybrid brands, etc... just number of shots, with data enough, we can estimate the average of the normal user.
so, lets vote! it's just a second :)
Thank you!
edit. i am not able to edit the poll :(

hi dreamnet, i have a pair of doubts easily solvable if you've got the camera. it is about hdr:
how many pictures does it take? which is the max step, can you take 5 between -2 and +2? does it save all the images or just the proccessed one? can you save them in raw format?
thanks!

thanks!

they say it is more sensitive to 'jello' effect than other HD-DSLRs they have tested, what are you comparing with? a flip?
2 of 4 cons are about video, i am not saying it is bad, but it is "not very good" indeed.
dont understand bad, i am not trolling or something, i will buy this camera for sure, i am just trying to see all the good and bad things about it

okej, the battery isnt as good as expepted in this camera but, how bad?
i think that if he is gonna say it is the weakest point of the camera, he should study it a bit more because, 24h?
so, 24h = 86400s, 86400s * 4,7fps= 406080 pictures with one set, it seems pretty fair to me
waiting for a more in depth review...

so, are there any other difference besides the duration between batteries?
i have always been suspicious about the 1,2-1,5V, i think it must affect in some way

i think that is another advantage, when they release a much better AA type (like lithium-ion or something) it will be easy to update the batteries :)
thanks!

i think those numbers are enough for me, i have seen some photo examples of this camera and they seem pretty good to me, i will definitely get this in christmas, when i go to new york (from europe) i have heard about b&h, any other recomended store?
WerTicus, i know i'll get more shots from lithium but, do you know the ratio more or less? the double? x1.5?
thanks!

ok, thanks for the answer! i think i will definitely get this camera.
one more questions about the batteries, you get 700-800 photos with eneloops, have you tried lithium? how many more can you get?
thanks again

hi! i am new in the forum, i have searched for a thread discussing the pentax k-x specs and i have not found any, so i decided to create one
i think i will buy this camera on christmas, but i have some technical doubts about the specs (i am new at dslr)
- batteries, what is the differnece between the lithium batteries and rechargeable NiMH or hybrid? i read with lithium batteries you can reach 1900 shots or 1100 (50% flash) but i will use rechargeable ones, will i notice much difference?
- i also read it will record hd video720@24, do you know if it will include lower res at more fps? is 24 ok or 30 is much better?
- it can make a sequence of 17 jpg at 4,7fps or 5 raw. is that as few as it seems or is it ok?
