today was anounced Fuji X10, compact camera that has everything i want from compact -> viewfinder (altough only 85% coverage), manual zoom, bigger sensor -> 2/3, good looking. well, can`t wait for it

i think this is more $$$ question, if you can afford K5 then go for it. If you can`t, then go for K-r (it`s really a nice camera).
Since you are not invested in Pentax system, you can also look for other brands, but i don`t think you will find something comparable to K5 (maybe Nikon D7000, but it`s not Pentax :) maybe also canon 7D (i would not go into Canikon lowends, because they are really budget cameras.) If you will stay with Pentax, i think you will be more than satisfied. Mainly when you will get better lens than kit lens.

isn`t the Q mount big enough to have a next MILC body with bigger senzor and same mount? something similar, slightly smaller as u4/3 ?

for 800$ i can have a DSLR. anyway it looks interesting as a fun camera. if the price will get around 300-400EUR i might be interested in buying PSILC (Point&Shoot interchangeble lens camera:)

well, i think that people that are happy with their cameras don`t have any reason to write anything here. all i can say is, that k5 is damn good camera. totally different with my k200. art filters that many says are useless are really beautiful. video with art filters is really interesting, high iso is f*cking good, some stains visible around f16/22 (never used it before, never use it after), sometimes it freeze, well it`s not perfect camera but really good to have in hands.
@photo: is there some grain? i really don`t care since it`s iso around 12800

i have k200 and recently bought k5 and to be honest: no regret. it`s wonderful camera, especially compared to k200. but if you can wait for price drop, then wait and buy a 31ltd and k5 later.

i recently upgraded from k200 to k5 and it`s like heaven&hell in every possible way. i suggest to save money and buy k5 later or used k7 now. dimensions are almost same but everything other is simply MUCH better.

to be honest, all of them. can`t choose only one. i already have 35/2.4 50/1.4 and 77/1.8 so maybe 28 or wider would be very nice, but pentax needs all of them to get attention from beginners
