Kenspo, don't give in to the negativity. We value your input and appreciate the restrictions under which you are allowed to post.
If you went to the University of Georgia we would consider you a DGD (damn good dawg). Thanks for all your hard work.

Don't forget, your poll is on a Pentax Users Forum so the vast majority of responses here will be from existing Pentax owners. The converts may still be on their old forums telling everyone there how great the K-1 is

I am a real estate lawyer, of which there are few who are more dull and pedantic, but I understood it as a joke.

He that shall live this day, and see old age, Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours, And say 'To-morrow is Sainted K-1 day.' Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars, And say 'These wounds I had on K-1's day.' Old men forget; yet all shall be forgot, But he'll remember, with advantages, What feats he did that day. Then shall our names, Familiar in his mouth as household words- Adam the King, LaurenOE, jimr-pdx, Monochrome. Be in their flowing cups freshly rememb'red. This story shall the good man teach his son; And K-1 K-1 shall ne'er go by, From this day to the ending of the world, But we in it shall be remembered- We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he to-day that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile, This day shall gentle his condition; And gentlemen in England now-a-bed Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here, And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks That fought with us upon Sainted K-1's day. |

I see that there is a really good price on this flash today. I was thinking of buying one since the FF will not have a pop up flash (everyone believes) and I wondered if anyone knew of a reason this flash might not work on the FF. I don't know much about flashes and would appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Maybe K-2 as symbolic of the hard climb for Pentax to surpass Canikon in FF market?

Any members willing to convert my 50-135 to screw drive for $50.00? I will pay shipping both ways and release the member from any liability if things go sideways during the conversion process. I only have a K-5 and K-3 so can't do it myself. If willing just drop me a personal message and we can work out the details. Thanks.

I have the same problem but don't know how to disable SDM and switch to screw drive. Can you explain how, please? Thanks.
NM. I scrolled down and found the thread telling how to do it. Now to find the courage to actually try it!

Manual is useless. I am waiting for Yvon Bourque (PENTAX DSLRs) to finish his.

Add the ability to choose between SDM and screwdrive on lenses which offer them both so I don't have to send my 50-135 in for repairs.

Lauren, I understand how you feel. The name matters because we "Pentaxians" have held out against Canikon and the other brands and have been loyal to our wonderful, quirky Pentax brand and we don't want to see it disappear. I also have a Savin copier which is now a Ricoh brand. If you love a Mustang it's not any less lovable because it is also a Ford. I seem to remember someone saying "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." I love Pentax and do not mind if Ricoh wants to bask in the reflected Pentax glory by putting their name on the back as long as they leave Pentax on the front. I think your modification to the rear of your K-3 is whimsical and interesting just like your (our) Pentax cameras.
