External flash recommendation

I have used the Yongnuo 585EX for Pentax for several years. It works great for me. I notice that Amazon has it for $90. B&H sells it for $85 It works on my K3 and my K70. It worked on my K5. It does sync with the cameras, but I prefer to use the manual settings. I really don't use an external flash very often. I use it for some portrait and still life photography depending on my lighting needs. I carry it when traveling and it does come in handy.

My wife and I were on our way back from Cade's Cove heading to our hotel in Cherokee when we noticed the sun beginning to set. We were at the second highest location in the Smoky Mountains (right place at the right time). The aperture is set at 800.

Affinity.

I use 1.6.4 version of Affinity Photo for Windows at present . Affinity is a fairly young program developed by Serif and has replaced their Photo Plus photo editing software series. Having used the program for about a year, it is my go to photo editing software.

The raw editing works really well for me, and after developing my raw editing, it takes me from the Develop Persona (raw editing) into the Photo Persona for further editing. In searching all the raw editing folder options (basic, lens, details, tones, and overlays), the slider options within each folder are numerous. In the Photo Persona environment the live filter layers are great to work with, as well as the tradition adjustment layers.

The stacking option in Affinity does a really nice job of stacking and is easy to use. I don't use it often, but when I do it doesn't disappoint.

I Love my K-r

I have had my K-r for three weeks shooting in all kinds of light with no unusual focus problems at all. I have used several lenses, including Sigma 50-500 EX DG, Pentax 55-300, Pentax 80-320, Pentax 16-45, Pentax 35-70 F 3.5-4.5, and pentax 50-135. Have yet to try my others. The other day I got some really good shots with the 50-500 hand held. Absolutely no auto focus issues. I almost always use the view finder. My settings I use, 70% of the time are aperture priority mode, 20% manual mode, and 10% others. I bought this camera as a low light backup to my K20, but I find myself using the K-r more than I thought I would. Bottom line? Much better camera than it seems to be getting credit for on this forum. I have posted a similar input adding to two other conversations, but I really would like some positive and constructive responses. Also, is it possible that some changes to the cameras have been made along the way? My serial number starts with 3866xxx but I don't know when the camera was manufactured.
