whoa, just stumbled upon this tread today

i've just won the bid on the K28/2 and it should arrive this weekend. I don't know whether I will like it or not, as 28mm is not my favorite range/perspective (But you know, great lens doesn't come everyday, so I've to grab it first :D).

I already have in my possession FA31, I'll see how it fare against each other and will keep other one of them

Long live good lens !!

Ps. I'm a fan of all Zeiss lens on my ZI/ZM Ikon body

sorry for the bump, but just saw that someone has asked about the tax ... For us who live on continental EU (I live in France), if I were about to buy anything from B&H or Adorama ::

1 - Price of Items
2 - Delivery Cost ~ variable
2 - Import Tax ~ 19.6%
3 - Handling Charge ~ 6-10%

So, for the price of DA15 that I bought, I paid 529 USD + 25% extra. The price of other items here in EU is almost the same as in the States, except that we've to pay in EUR (for example, you pay for 200 USD grip, we'll have to pay at 200 EUR instead)

So, yep the life was sucks back then ... and 'pun' intended on purpose ...

Black paper as a background, desk lamp for lighting purposes. Shot with 35/2.8 Limited

As always, any comments are welcome !

hehe ! we got about 2000 pentax members here in Thailand (the registered numbers on our local Pentax fansite), and we do grouped together from time to time to do the shoot together (~15-20 ppl each outing) ...

We have few pros shooting with Pentax also (wedding and events mostly), and lot of collectors of the old Takumars and those A* series ...

and lol ~ yep, about half of them in there are well over 30s, Asians do look young in the eyes of Westerners I guess (due to our small form factor too) ;)

================
On the side note, the photos displayed by the OP is from tilt-shift adapter I believed, he had shown to us once in our fansite :D

Will Sony supply the Sensor for future bodies?

Yep, exactly. They released the news on new HD camera as soon as they released their NEX system. Keeping customers well-informed about their roadmap.

Sony aside, D700 FF Body sells like hotcakes, negated their (no) video capability... But I ain't say that FF Body with no video is the only way out though.

IMO, we might see Pentax return to Sony once again for their sensor choices, as they used to (*istD)...

Hello,

VERY interested in the lens :)

Just a question regarding one of the screws next to the electronic contacts...
Is there sth wrong with it ? (It looks like it was removed once or twice)

Sorry for being conspicuous, but it's really tempting... :D

SDM and HSM focus speed - dependent on body?

Hello,

From what I understand, HSM does not reply on the body. It almost merely depends on the size of the motor internally built onto the lens. On may be a bit of the circuit current sent to/from the body to the lens might have very little impact though.

As the old time Nikon shooter, my 30 1.4 HSM sigma works wonder on both my D300 and my girlfriend D60. However, a cheapo AFs lens (kit) works slowly on both cameras, because the camera screw-drive cannot override the internal motor speed of the lens. The non-motorised lens seems to work faster than those AFs though (I think it is the same case apply to Pentax lens, as we try to minimize the size of the lens that's why the motor might be smaller)

On K-7, as I've tested, 55 SDM is somewhat slower than a screw-drive DA40 ltd.

Leica summicron 90/f2 converted or Carl Zeiss ZK 85/1.4??

Hello guys,

I'm just a newbie in the pentaxforums !! I've been shooting Nikon for about 3 ½ years before making the switch (can't resist those limited though :p:p)

Right now, I'm having a dilemma to choose between Leica Summicron 90 f2 (3-cam) or CZ Planar T* 85 1.4 (new version)
Lucky enough, I was offered both at almost the same price (~500 EUR)...
Leica comes with box and everything, plus a R->PK mount converter, while CZ is just a lens + caps...

I'm more on the Leica side now (can't resist the name... hahah), but if someone who has experienced with both lens can share some insight, I would be very grateful. So, here is the questions.

1. Do using converter creates some problems ? Has anyone experienced it so far ?
2. Which one is easier to manual-focus ? I heard from my friends that Leica is very smooth and the travel distance is good enough. However, the brighter VF from 1.4 should be easier ?
3. The aperture ring... I heard that Leica feel abit 'click-clack' compare to CZ, is that true ?

Unfortunately, I have no chance to test both lens before I buy, as Leica of my friend reside in Hong Kong and while CZ is with the other in Thailand. Oh, and I will be using it with K-7...

I do not mentioned about pictures quality, as I think that CZ gives better overall sharpness, greater contrast, but I like the sharp center, and blur corner of Leica though...

Thanks in advance for all your answer !~
TiTi - a Thai resides in France

ps. Already owned DA 70ltd, but my GF mostly have it with her always :)
