My father recently gave me his old Super and it has some issues. First off, the mirror is in the up position and while I can manually pull it down, it returns to the up position upon release. The shutter release and the DOF preview lever are unresponsive. I changed the batteries for brand new ones and got no change. Any help in fixing this wonderful camera would be much appreciated.

You're very welcome, like I said, it's a pretty good lens for the price, just don't expect it to be super high quality.

yeah there is a bit of that as well, but it's really only noticable at 100% and when shooting in bright sunlight... which as my previous post stated is almost a given... it's an OK lens for the price, but if it's only a matter of $20 - $50 then I'd go with the more expensive one. I got mine off e-bay for $90 so I've been happy with it.

I have that lens, and the only problem I have with it is the slowness of the f/5.6 at the long end. I shoot a lot of nature/wildlife... at least I try to... and unless I want to bump up the ISo and get the resulting noise, it's pretty much gotta be very sunny, and little movement to get a sharp image with that lens.

Got me one too! I still even use it every now and then. Some of the absolute best film images I've taken were taken with that camera...... good times....

Hello all, My name is Michael and I've been into photography for about 3 years now. I started off with an old K1000 that I bought for $50 off a co-worker. I soon upgraded to a ZX-L, and finally to my *ist DL. My favorite subjects are nature and especially floral shots. IF you're interested, check out my smugmug page Here.
