I don't have a digital SLR yet. If I get a K100D and use old film lenses on it, am I risking getting little specks of dust and dirt on the new cameras sensor? I have always tried to keeep the lenses as clean as possible, but assume the tiniest specks of film dust etc will show up on the digital sensor.

Tell your broker you want to buy Pentax on the "pink sheets". It does trade in US. But, yahoo! indicates that the most recent US trade was more than a month ago, so it is VERY thin. This means you may have to offer a premium to get your order to fill. Note that on the Japan exchanges the stock is up, a lot, on the new merger news. It might be cool to own Pentax, but I doubt profitable.

This is the only film SLR I have used for almost 10 years. It does have a lot of cheap components in it, but seems to work reliably because it is so simple. Also note that the film handling mechanism, mirror and shutter is the same as all the more expensive AF versions up to and including the ZX-5n. The plastic lens mount is a non issue. I suspect if one were to micro measure it, you would find a polycarbonate mount can be produced with less warp than a mass produced stainless steel one. Also, it doesn't put wear marks on my 43 Limited. The simple 2 segment meter is flawless. I find the memory lock more usefull than an autobracket for shooting difficult scenes. The viewfinder, with pentamirror, was measured brighter than a ZX-5n by Pop Photo magazine. I suspect because 100%of the light is directed to the eyepiece and none is diverted for autofocusing. Pentax should be embarrassed at how easily the printing wears off the knobs. My only other 2 Pentaxs were a ME Super and LX. Both were much more satisfying to use, but neither took better pictures than the ZX-M.
