While in the town central
Of Guadalajara, I saw this old cowboy soul walking around with his Guitar, a well deserved moment for me to take few snaps of him… he wears this country singer vibe pretty dam well!

Not the finished product, more of a work in progress. Got alot of wierd looks from people passing by as I was doing this. Sculpture at a park downtown works perfectly.

This one didn't turn out as expected, I had a concept in mind but I couldn't get it so I decided to go crazy with the post-processing. The wolf shadow was made in Photoshop and I used a projector to put it on a wall, and for the girl shadow I used a real person standing in front of the projector. Pigeon-Toed
~~~~~
A vintage automobile that looks like it needs an alignment during a beautiful Mojave Desert evening. I illuminated the scene with warm white light from a handheld ProtoMachines LED2 light during the long exposure. In this case, the mountains were dark, so I used the light to "rim" the interior and define it more as well as the exterior to "lift" it from the background more. Light painting to illuminate subjects is a beautiful, addictive art, as you can walk around the scene, deciding what to bring to light and what to keep in shadow. It's more fun than AI-generated art this way. This photo may appear in my fourth book of night photography, history, and stories. Photographed during a night photography workshop that we taught in the Nevada desert.
HI all
I'm Stefan - from Sweden.
I joined in January 2015 so I figured it was about time to introduce myself.
My first DSLR was a K-30 (that developed aperture block at around 1500 exposures). Still loved it.
And my current DSLR is the KP - what a wonderful camera.
Just recently, and finally, I got my dream pair; the smc FA31 and FA77. The temptation for the silver 100mm macro was also too big.
I've been cheating around a bit with Olympus (MFD). Good system, but sold. Trying to implement the philosophy "less is more".
But I do have the tiny Sony RX100 III. It just is a great jack of all trades pocket camera - there's no denying.
Well - back to the forum.
8 years has passed, and I have learnt TONS from you all.
And for that I am sincerely grateful. Hence the reason I finally wrote my introduction; to say thanks!
Wish you all a productive 2023 with a lot of great photos.
Best // Stefan
This was with the MZ-S, FA77 and Portra400.
I deliberately wanted this angle, to see how it will turn up. Love it.
post here two of same image.
The colour-image is the original, as this image is from Portra400 (snapped with FA77).
Other than cropping and small adjustments on some parameters using just SnapSeed on cellphone, nothing else elaborate was used.
The black-white image came about via exploring turning the colour-image into bnw using just the phone's default image processing app.
I actually prefer the BnW version :)
Moving to America
This 1953 Fageol Twin Coach Model FV-2260 moving van would make such a great RV! I illuminated the scene with a handheld flashlight while the camera's shutter was open during this long exposure night photo. I felt sheer joy while enjoying a beautiful cool evening in the mountains with friend photographing. This was part of a Notorious RGB 1165-mile photography safari with Mike Cooper, George Loo, and George the monkey.
Celebrating vivid colors of the rainbow night photography style. I light painted all four photos of the same outhouse, one right after another, then thought it might make a fun four-panel photo. These are literally four photos in a row I did. I illuminated the scene with a handheld ProtoMachines LED2 RGB light painting device while the camera's shutter was open during this long exposure night photo. This was part of a Notorious RGB 1165-mile photography safari with Mike Cooper, George Loo, and George the monkey. Located in the California mountains near the border of Mexico. Thanks.
It's been a while since I've shot anything with K-1.. Shooting with mirrorless has been fun. Z5 with FTZ adapted Nikkor 105/1.4 and native 40/2 work great for me, love the bokeh and rendering etc.
BUT, last week I took my K-1 with DFA* 50/1.4 attached out of the cabinet and tried to take some shots of our new rescue dog Aapo. Battery was still half full, camera was still a heavy beast, but felt good :) .
LV on, living room lights on and ISO 1600-2000 and wide open aperture. No eye animal AF sadly, but focus peaking is still one of the best I feel if AF does not react fast enough..
Anyway, still love this combo. A few shots I took with minimal editing in ON1 2022:
DFA* Fat Fifty <3 :)
