Thanks for the informative responce.
I guess i missunderstood hyperfocal points. I thought if I set my aperature high and focused close there would be a distance past my foreground that would be infocus from there to infinity.
I will deffinetly have to do what you sugested next time that nex time. My only question is what is the point of near focus for doing something like that? I was only about 6 or 8 inches away from the grape vine.

Hi guys. This week was quite busy, first week back to work and a couple of visits from the UPS guy. He was kinda enough to bring me this sigma 10-20 picked up here. I was able to find sometime to take a nice sunset watch. This was one of my favorites from the walk: |

It wasn't so much a matter of getting the shots as it was seeing the display readout in the viewfinder.

Hey guys.
I was out shooting today. It was very bright and made only worse with the reflection off the snow. While composing and shooting it was so bright i was unable to see the display in the viewfinder. Seeing as though I prefer to shoot point focus and center weighted metering it was a bit challenging. I would have to pull back a little from the viewfinder and glance down at my meter while still keeping on target.
I know that such bright conditions might not occur very often, but I was wondering if there was anyway to boost the brightness of the display in the viewfinder? Is the brightness of the viewfinder tied into the brightness of the screen?
Sorry if these are novice questions, still trying to figure out this kx / dslr thing.

Hi guys. Not sure if this is the most appropriate place for this thread, but since it isn't related to pentax cameras...
I am going to be going on a 7month adventure leaving in February. I will be doing a semester abroad in New Zealand and then rail in Europe for a month and a bit then flying to Iceland for two weeks to return home in August. Throughout this trip I will be snapping away like crazy with my kx. My plans were to create a personal website. It would serve as a blog picture gallery. Something I could upload a lots of pictures too along with little blurbs about what I have been up too.
My main need is fast and simple updates with good organization, I could be updating as much as daily or weekly to keep the family informed. Also if i pay someone to host the website could I also use it as a server to back up my photos as i travel?
I was wondering if anyone knew of good templates or cheap designs? I used to do web design stuff but it was more then 4yrs ago and terribly out of practice. I have CS3 Dreamweave and was hoping to be able to utilize this to make click and pick updates and additions.
I have a pretty good idea of what i would like... but just don't have the skills to make it happen.

Hello Everyone!
Figured i would drop a line or two and say hi! I recently just purchased my first dslr upgrading from panny fz50 to the kx. I have been enjoying photography greatly for the last 2years and try to learn/try things at every opportunity. In February i leave for a semester abroad to New Zealand followed by a month and a half of travel around Europe. So i plan to get lots of use out of my new camera :) I look forward to conversations to come :D
