The KP/200 appears marginally sharper ... but I will still take the largest frame size available, for cropping and enlarging with less loss of image quality. For that reason I occasionally lug a Pentax 67 around i/l/o my K1.

Minus 31 C, eh? Proof that the K3iii is indeed well-winterized. Your image of pine needles is remarkable: Looks like a b&w picture with a full-color sky ghosted in.

Mack: Thank you for an excellent tutorial! I use a nearly-identical rig to yours, and wonder if I should set the K-1 "image finishing" to b&w when scanning b&w negatives. Will this impact resolution in any way? I also wonder if there's a way to save the captured scan files to an external SSD - either by direct connection to the K-1 or by routing the K-1's output to a PC. This would be a major time-saver when compared to saving files to an in-camers SD card.
