Thanks Ash.

I will probably go for 16-45. It is one of least complained lens in the forum. Ans a lot of people like it. I just wonder if one stop from F4 to F2.8 of 16-50 will help much low light. I also have a 360 FGZ so I can put it into good use in low light instead of getting a F2.8. Again a lot of things need to learn to master.

As for 170-500, I am mainly looking for using it in the zoo for animals and on the lake for birds. I have a cheap Tamron 70-300. Very nice lens except purple fringe. Although I know the trick now to not use it against the light. But 300 mm is not long enough for bird shooting.

Thanks, Ash.

I am definitely going for good lenses and other accessories. Currently I have only a kit lens, a FA 50 1.4, a 360FGZ, a Tamron 70-300 1:4-5:6 Macro plus a lot of manual lenses (not good quality). I am looking for a 16-50 F2.8 SDM or 16-45 F4 but I am afraid of SDM issue and it may not work on my K100D, is it true?

On the longer lens side, somebody just posted a Sigma 170-500 in the forum for sale asking around US$ 500. I think this is a good deal, what do you think?

Best Regards,

Chris

Greeting to everyone.

I am a new Pentax forum member. Still use my *ist DL and K100D. Decided not to update camera body until a FF is out. Is this good decision?

Thanks for viewing. It is a nice forum.

I think you get a good price on *istD, but it is not best bang for the money. Right now if you can get a K2000 or K200D for that price, then its a great deal.
