The focuser is a 2” Moonlite. The mount is a Skyview pro actually very solid. The pier that the mount is attached to is removable, but because it’s such long 1000mm scope it makes the viewing very difficult. I feel using the pier extension is more solid than extending the tripod legs! The only reservation I have about using my K3 is the possibility of dust getting on the sensor! Anyway to prevent that?

Hi All, I already have a decent telescope, and would like to try some Astrophotography. Can you show me everything I’d need to attach my K3-2 to my 120mm refractor?

This did not help the problem. it only happens when I adjust the shadows. It's fine if I adjust the Blacks! Weird! Never had that issue in Aperture. Here is an exported image. They are perfect. ---------- Post added 08-07-16 at 05:14 PM ---------- Ok, This is strange. If I go to Slideshow, then press "F" for full screen I have the same issue, till I move the image with the "Hand Tool". Then is pops in correctly in slideshow. Very strange behavior. Can't figure it out.

Hi all,
Bought Lightroom 6, and really like it so far. Came from Aperture. The one problem I'm having is the huge difference in my raw images from the develop module to the slideshow module. The slideshow looks awful, the develop looks the way I expect it to. What gives? I have the slideshow quality set to high. also, how does one just view these images totally full screen? One more thing anyway to stream the images to Apple TV?

Has the K3-2 firmware been updated yet?

Well, if the product can't be fixed, and it's under warranty, then the manufacture should replace the unit with a new one.

I was just thinking about the ton's of electronics built into a modern day DSLR, and was wondering what the life expectancy of a camera such as the K3-ll would really be? Electronics is one of my hobbies, and one of the most common failures in electronic circuits has to be electrolytic capacitors! Over time they basically dry out and short! I'm sure almost all caps are monolithic surface mount caps in camera's, but I'm pretty sure an electrolytic must be used somewhere in cameras most likely for flash. Maybe I'm wrong.

Hi, I was just on DP Review and was reading a scathing review about Pentax service. A huge thread articulating just how bad service has become, and how it's effecting Pentax sales. I just bought a new Pentax K3-ll, and so far love this camera! I came from a K5 which did have problems that were corrected! Is the service really as bad as they claim? Kinda of scary to think I bought a product that may not be repairable! Also bought the Pentax extended warranty!

So how do you switch quickly between spot focus and multi point tracking?

I think my problem is I don't understand how the multi point system works. It seems to me if I just point the camera at the subject I want in focus what's the advantage of having a ll the points, and possibly having it select the wrong subject?

HI All, I usually always have my K3 set to spot meter, spot focus. I never use the auto focus points because I really don't understand them. I know I'm missing something big here, but can never get the shots I want. Any advice?

Hi All, what is this Peripheral Illumination Correction on my K3-ll? Don't remember seeing this on my K5. Do you use it?

Yes, I have asked myself the same question. I do have a rocket blower. Guess I need to just do what I need to do to get the shot, and deal with dust later. Just the thought of someday having to swab the sensor freaks me out! The 55-300 is not a WR LENS CORRECT?

I do have the 55-300, I may go for a for a wide limited. The 55-300 is much better on edge sharpness at 55mm, and is reasonably sharp at 300.
I really don't like to change lenses for fear of getting dust on the sensor. I am very careful when I do. Always change indoors, with the body facing down, and I cap the back of the free lens immediately. Still it's a hassle. Thought that maybe there was a miricle lens out there I didn't hear about LOL!

Hi all, What's the sharpest super zoom lens for my K3? I have the Pentax 18-135mm, but would like something with a bit more reach. I'm not particularly impressed with edge to edge sharpness of the 18-135mm at the widest setting.

Thanks. I took my 18-135 to Italy, and never took it off my camera. I was very pleased with the results!

Good point! Never thought of that. Really love these Pentax body's! They really are solid, and everything just seems to be in the right place! The overall impression I get from Pentax is solid quality. Even their lenses seem very well built. Solid! Don't understand why they aren't selling a lot more camera's!

Nice! The middle one looks really good! I will try playing with that soon. I wonder if they will ever upgrade the function through firmware so we can have the motion corrections like the K1?

Have you tried the Astrotracer? Do you have any examples? I have a 120mm refractor on a Skyview Pro mount. Was thinking of aligning the scope, then mounting the K3 on the camera mount on top of my scope, and just try some wide angle views. Not to interested in mounting the camera body through the scope though.
