Do flash tubes go based off of the camera flash, or would I need to buy something else? My only flash right now is the in camera flash on my K-7.

I am interested in purchasing some in-home studio lighting to take portraits of my family & friends.
I don't want to break the bank to do this, but would like to get the lights, stands, backdrops etc that I need.
I found a package deal that has all of this for $149.99
I've added the link. http://www.kaezi.com/magento/index.php/studio-kits.html?mode=list
Does anyone know if this seems to be too good of a deal to be true, or is it just really cheap material etc.?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Jim! I think the combo of the sunset & the fireworks over the water turned out pretty well
I shot some images of several Osprey along the river too, that I was pretty excited to share...until I saw your amazing shots! I'll still post some of the shots later, but your shots are magnificent!
Thanks Ex Finn. I appreciate the complement!

1. Sunset over the Potomac as the first fireworks go up on a neighboring pier. This shot has been saturated. 35 mm, ISO 100, 7.1, 1 second shutter
2. 32.5 mm, ISO 100, 5.6, 4 second shutter.
3. 23.1 mm, ISO 100, 7.1, 13 second shutter. Some saturation.
4. 23.1 mm, ISO 100, 8.0, 13 second shutter.
5. 23.1 mm, ISO 100, 7.1, 13 second shutter.
This was my first attempt at fireworks. It was purely trial and error, but overall, I am pretty pleased with some of the results.

Beautiful shot Ramseybuckeye! I was at Cades Cove a couple weeks ago myself. Amazing isn't it!
Here's a link to my picture of a young black bear I ran into there.

I need to find out how to recover lost video. Does anyone know the steps of how to do what Frogfish was suggesting?
I'm also posting 3 shots of the bear that charged me. They are completely out of focus, with all of the branches in between, but you can get an idea of why I tried to get a better, unobstructed shot! Shortly after the last shot here, is when he charged. He was probably about 65 yards away, and I was about 15 yards into the woods, so I figured running was my best option. :D |

I spotted this year old black bear wandering in the woods while driving through Cades Cove, TN. We stopped the car and got some pictures. I got a great 42 second video clip too, but accidentally erased it after showing it to a friend! :hmm:
This little guy was foraging for food and didn't pay me a bit of attention. It looked like it was going to walk right up to me and only turned to the side when it was about 15 feet away!
Shortly before this, I had gone a little ways into the woods after spotting a large male black bear. I didn't get any decent shots of him because the auto focus kept picking up branches between me and the bear. When I switched to manual focus and crept closer, the bear CHARGED ME!!! It was only a bluff charge of about 4 VERY FAST steps, but it sure got me out of the woods in a HURRY!!! I know you're not supposed to run from bears, but I couldn't help it, I turned tail & ran! (-:

Well...I've narrowed it down to my top 12! It's gonna take some more time to drop 5 deserving shots from this list to get down to 7!

Congrats on the win and the great capture!!! Well deserved!
I hadn't even noticed the dust spots until Rense pointed them out. It caused me to clean my monitor for a better look. Everything looks so much clearer to me know! Thanks for that too! :D

Haha! The white stuff at the end is the baby pooping!
What is seen coming out of their beaks occasionally is their tongues.

I posted a video of an adult Hummingbird feeding it's young last week. I returned on Friday and got some more footage. I think this one turned out even better!

I went back again last night and shot another video. The babies are 5 days older, and much bigger with many feathers. They should be ready to leave the nest soon! There's a little surprise at the end of this video. (-:

You nailed it casil403! I hadn't thought of the sword swallower comparison, but it's right on! Thanks for the comment.
Thanks slowpez! It's my pleasure to share. I lucked out spotting the nest. It's right off the edge of a hiking trail, but I don't know if anyone else had ever spotted it. Most people are jogging, biking, or walking dogs past it. I feel very fortunate!
Thanks Pent X girl! Amazing little creations aren't they!
