After the worst nights sleep I've ever had cycle touring, we were treated to a beautiful descent into sea haar near to Bonar Bridge. The rest of the day was to be the finest day of cycling I've ever had ending eventually at Bettyhill.
Shot from a moving bike at silly o'clock in the morning, mid August 2013. |

Thanks! I'm trying to bring more interesting themes to my work rather than concentrating solely on technical ability and subject.

Just thought I'd update you all with my recent work. Haven't been on in a while due to exam commitments but I've still been pottering away!
As usual, the rest of my work can be found here on my website!

Jack (:

Ha, I giggled. I've been graced with the nicest of natural lighting for the first days shooting then BAM. The rain of all day yesterday created a most atmospheric of moods for yesterdays lot.

She's pretty swift at her costume changes (:
Rather than make a whole new thread, thought you'd appreciate this shot I took today! |

Finally convinced my girlfriend to go out for a photoshoot today (:
Of course, I did realise afterwards that the vast majority of the shots were all practically the same thing with different backgrounds, but that doesn't really matter in my eyes ;) And she was fair pleased, so I win all around!
Snapped a shot of this crazy little red squirrel while we wandering around the woods as well. A bountiful photo day over all!
The rest of my work can be found here as per usual (:

Just a quick wee over view of the shots I've done over the last couple weeks. Been so busy with school work that I haven't had much time to get out and shoot...
The last shot there is a three shot panorama which I messed up a little bit and had to clone a great deal to fill in the blank spaces. Those even with the most untrained of eyes will be able to notice it fairly quickly I'm sure ;)
Make sure you head over to my website to check out my stuff!

Thanks for the kind comments guys! Prints delivered today. A mix of just over A4 sized ones for all except the black and white one which got interloped up to A2. Fine results for posting on a stair landing but I wouldn't go inspecting it up close...

I'm dreadful for a heavy PP. But it's just my style that I have developed over the years.

Thanks both of you for the kind words (: And they must be an interesting family to hire a 17 year old photographer and trust him with their looks!
And I took the final photo in the series of the father this morning. Will be delivering the shots this time next week and I will let you all know how it went! |

Oh that was just as a preview to show the clients to make sure they were happy with the style. The actual shots will be printed to around A3 and displayed in their hall.
And thanks for all the kind comments!

The first shot has some pretty funky colours going on! I'm liking that. And the second one has some pretty nice bokeh, but the subject isn't quite as interesting.

I was approached by a local family who's son I know to take some portraits for them. I've never really done portraiture with more than one subject before so this was a great learning experience for me. And I made a couple bob out of the whole affair too (:
Enjoy!

Tried with the brasso and it has completely destroyed the viewfinder... Going to have a go polishing a little more and see if I can salvage it. Failing that, I'll order the Polywatch and see what that brings.
But, it's probably likely I'll be trying to pick me up a cheap K20D shortly because I can't afford a K7 as it stands currently. Oh well :(
Ninja'd- Had a go with the toothpaste and it's back to the state it was at roughly. At least I can actually see through it now I guess...

Can you confirm this will work? I've got a big ol' bottle of brasso and it would be very convenient if I could just use that.
And toothpaste? What? Really...

Sorry to dig up a (very) old thread, but I didn't want to make one specifically for the purpose.
What acrylic polish do you recommend? I've got the exact same problem and I'm not sure what I should get to get my camera back up to a use able standard!

Thanks for the kind comments! Number two was a shot from a while back that I took on holiday in Spain. It's looking from a chapel window down onto the cliffs bellow which were totally scattered with random rubbish. Then in my infinite pretentious wisdom I thought I'd play around with messing up perspective (:
Number three was a shot from Lunersee Dam in Austria. The actual slide is alot more impressive but I've been screwed over somewhat by a local camera shop with their lack of scanning ability...
Once again, thanks alot!

Hey guys! Not been on here in a few weeks and I have a few new shots for you all (:
The third shot is one my my many from Austria which I am still having no joy with getting scanned.

Are you talking about the big black blob on the right hand side above the ice. That demented me too but it's literally black on the original RAW. Underexposing fail :(
And I agree on the sentiments about the coolness of the first shot. I'll probably go have a wee play later :)
Glad y'all liked them :)

Oh the poor wee K100D powers on for it's 3rd-4th year of harsh winter weather. I really have abussed this wee thing, but it's so reliable!
Hope you all got some craking christmas shots!
