Thank you SO MUCH amoringello !
And thank you to all you other contributors as well. Even though Pentax/Hoya can't/won't/forgot to send their lens profiles to Adobe, at least we have a GREAT community that takes care of its own.

For those of us racking our brains wondering where to put those precious .lcp files, here's the answer from Adobe :
Don't forget to add the \1.0 if it wasn't already there (my case)
cheers !

Thanks guys...
This is good info, and as I am still very new to the DSLR world, I have yet to have my heart set on one particular software.
My options are (in order of preference) :
. Lightroom 3
. DxO 6.1.2
. CaptureOne 5
Oh, and I can only afford one !
I currently use Picasa and ACDSee Pro 2.5, which kinda-sorta works for me (they both do video, which none of the heavies above do). I also have Elements 7, just fine for my editing needs.
Cheers !
PS : Thank you Falconeye for your extended review on the Pentax K-7. You really help me in my decision in buying that camera (for info, my other choice at the time was a D90)

However, no mention anywhere in their add as to which camera is or isn't supported.
The X2 version by the way does NOT support the Pentax K-7. *
*received a response from Corel that the K-7 will be added, eventually. Perhaps.

Here is the link : For the Pentax K7 on the WIN platform, you need DxO Optics Pro Standard v6
Now, what does it do for us ? No idea, never played with DxO.
Btw, only 2 lenses supported, and the 18-55 WR kit lens isn't one of them (unless it is the very same as the non-weather resistant version)
I'm just happy that yet another software developer acknowledges Pentax by supporting it. Yay !

Good news !
Message from Gaël on the DxO Forum
"To our Pentax users, the Pentax K7 is back in the roadmap, with the smc PENTAX-DA 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 AL II."

and in the "one-step" preset it's not there either.
I found MOSD {AutoDevelop}.lrtemplate instead of the MOS01.01 CS-CE.lrtemplate |

I'm still having problems with DxO... and am wondering if it isn't because there isn't a module for my camera. It can process my JPGs, but not the RAW, be it in PEF or DNG.
note : I did take the files straight from the camera's download folder into DxO, so they weren't pre-processed.

That explains it ! Thank you (Couldn't find this info when I looked in DxO's FAQs.)
What do you know... the ONE TIME I change my workflow, and imported directly from card to LR. *sigh*
DNG output was one of the reasons I got a PENTAX. *re-sigh*
Anyway, thanks for the info...
I'm going to be following your posts pretty closely now :p

I can't open any .dng in DxO v.6 (doesn't appear in the folder list), but the .jpgs do.
*must be doing something wrong... again*
ps : DxO doesn't offer K-7 optics modules yet.

I use RAW+, with a simple workflow using :- PIE (picture information viewer) to get the images off my card, automatically placing the images in their predefined folders :
ex :
20091109 <== jpegs go here
20091109\RAW <== .dng go here
20091109\Video <== video go here- Second Copy to copy *.jpg to /My Pictures folder where I use Picasa to post images to friends and family,
- Lightroom 2.5 to import only the .dng files from 20091109\RAW if/when I want to PP for large prints.
I'm perfectly happy with the jpegs produced by the K-7 for web/email posting, and am beginning to wonder if I won't one day bypass Lightroom altogether (sacrilege!) and use ACR with Photoshop Elements for the little postprocessing I do get around to doing (namely using plugins)

Thanks so much for your incredibly quick response !
... downloading ...
EDIT : I installed your presets thanks to your easy-to-follow instructions... the only caveat was a difference in file names in the "one-step" preset (ie MOSD {AutoDevelop}.lrtemplate vs MOS01.01 CS-CE.lrtemplate)
Is this an issue ?

Hello everyone, and namely mithrandir !
I just purchased my first dslr this week (a K-7, lucky me !), and was out and about looking for lightroom presets when I came upon this thread.
But !
I can't find the presets .zip file (Mithrandir's Adobe Lightroom Presets 20090805)
Am I looking in the wrong place ?
Was it taken down ?
help ?
