Forgot to add that I was focusing on things that the camera could focus on such as a door on a distant building, trees on the horizon, etc.

Just to clarify, these are older inexpensive lenses that I've used on both k10 and K20. The lenses are Sigma 28-105 and Tamron 28-200. They both have worked fine on my older Pentax DSLRs.
I guess I'll try these adjustments. .

i just bought a K5 and went out today to shoot some landscape. On both of lenses used, the camera would have a hard time focusing on distant objects. It would not lock focus and i'd have to focus on something closer. I have camera set to not allow shutter release unless focus is locked. I went back and tried the same lenses on my K20d with no issues. I've read about low light focus problems with the K5, but this was in bright daylight. Can anyone suggest what I might do?
Thanks,
Curt

I own a K20 and have the standard Kit lens 18-55 and the Pentax 50mm 1.4. I'm looking for a good general purpose walk around lens like the Sigma 17-70, the older one without lens stabilization. Does anyone recommend this vs. the new one? What other lens suggestions do you have?
Thanks,
Curt

I just bought a refurbished K10d from Best buy online. I received the camera today; paid 379.00 + shipping & tax and it appears brand new in the box with all accessories included. They looked to be in their original sealed plastic. I'm flabbergasted. I installed a battery and lens, and card, took a pic land then loaded it in PhotoME and shutter count shows 212. I am 99% sure that this must be new - old stock. For anyone looking for a inexpensive Pentax body, the girl that I spoke with said they had several more in stock.
I am just a hobbyist and I bought a k10d in 2007, but sold it to get the k20. Although I think that the k20 is a better camera, the k10 is still a wonderful DSLR and for me has better handling and build than the new K-x.
