Couldn't agree more I have no affiliation but have had a great success in recovering 12000 precious family photos using photorec (now all safely backed up in triplicate!)

I would say no they would create a much too higher voltage for the camera. Standard chemistry AA battery are 1.5V (rechargeable 1.2) x 4 batteries in series gives you 6V doing this with 4 x 3.7V gives you 14.8V much too high for the camera.

I managed this image with the K5 and an elastic band, camera set to continuous shooting 30 second exposure elastic band on shutter release (with a small ball of paper) and just let it go, then stack images in pp. I found the interval timer too difficult to get right though there is a post on here somewhere telling you the best intervals to set to minimize "down time" between frames.

Couldn't agree more they are very tame and tasteful I'd happily open them at work.
Maybe some clear rules from Admin/s are needed.

If people are uncomfortable I switch to candid mode 50-135 get some distance between me and them and pretend I'm not interested in them any more! It's amazing how many of these people later ask me if they could have their photo taken and I tell them it's ok I've already got them!

Glad a solution was found for you both!
The power of a great forum like this helps turn a problem into a success!
I look forward to getting one of these adaptors for my Q myself!

I've just had a look for the thread but can't find it about another user having an issue with this adaptor and a very simple resolution was found. I can't recall if it was a getting it on or getting it off the camera issue but it might be worth searching for.

I have this case and love it for the Q7 and 01 lens. It's genuine leather hand stitched.

I get heaps of compliments on it.
I have no affiliation to this seller but when sent the incorrect color outer cover they immediately sent a replacement.
I'm now trying to find a small case/cover for the 02 lens if you find anything suitable for just the lens please let us all know as I'm sure I'm not the only one looking for this.

Awesome shot great light.
I always find that shot of the city difficult I like your idea of using a stitched pano to get the perspective of the river right.

I'm 33 and started with Pentax with a K100D
I'm still here with a K5ii and now a Q7 and original Q.
I feel Pentax's lack of uptake in the younger markets is purely down to marketing and the lack of "sexy" point and shoots. Let's face it most younger people move from camera phone to p&s and p&s to dslr and without a nice stepping stone the brand is rarely picked up as a first dslr.
And to that same point as a person with a child and another on the way I was looking for a good compact camera as carrying an slr and glass with kids is difficult and it was actually difficult for me to choose pentax as there isn't much that's great in that range. I ended up with Pentax Q but I don't think this is the best mirrorless camera made for the money but it's pentax and I know how to navigate menus etc.
My 2 cents!!

Hi pinholecam
Firstly wanted to say great review I have just received my Q7 after reading this and being inspired to use a mirror less pentax alongside my dslr
Now I'm wondering where you got your beautiful leather half body case from its really nice though I can't seem to find one for the Q7 anywhere only the Q10 and I believe the body shape is different between the Q10 and Q7?
If you could point me on the right direction that would be much appreciated.
Thanks Mike

I doubt it - the OP is asking a Pentax specific question on a Pentax specific forum about a a specific group of lenses - not a basic question like what equipment do I need to shoot a wedding!

For wedding work my 50-135 rarely comes off my camera - the 16-45 was a good cheap better than kit wide angle but I now have 16-50 Pentax and 17-50 Sigma (impulse buy) and actually having both wide angle lenses is good - one is fast to focus and one isnt but its WR (and a much sexier looking DA*)
I did also use the Sigma 70-200 for a few weeks but found it a little too big for my liking but a very nice lens none the less if you can manage the size/weight Id get one over the 50-135
