Bump for the flash. A brand new base plate goes for about $50 and is a super easy swap from what I can tell (4 screws).

I have potential buyers for the K-7, 16-50 and the Sigma so far (all in Canada). I'm going to keep this Canada only until Saturday, at which point I'll open it up to the US.

Everything is sold but the flash! $200 shipped anywhere in North America for the flash (excluding paypal fees). Now $150 shipped anywhere in North America - Pentax AF-540 FGZ - $200
Bought this locally a while back. Perfect working condition but it does have two issues due to having been dropped once. The first is that 2 of the 3 retention clips for the battery cover is broken. The cover still closes and stays closed, though one of the corners peeks out a bit. The second is that the corner of the plate is cracked and will probably break off eventually. I don't believe this would stop the flash from being used, but a replacement plate assembly is $50 or so. Comes with the box, pouch and base. - SOLD Pentax K-7 Body - $150
Bought this off a forum member back in 2010 and have used it mainly for travel photography. Shutter count is just under 17000. Some rub marks on the bottom of the camera as well as on the mode selection dial. Perfect working condition. Original body cap was lost and has been replaced by a Vivitar one. - SOLD Pentax DA* 16-50mm 2.8 - $620
This was bought used at the same time as the K-7. The SDM motor died at the end of 2011 and was replaced by Pentax Vietnam (where I was living at the time). There are marks on the filter threads from when the previous owner had to remove a cheap stuck filter. Tiny bit of wear on the Pentax logo on the lens cap. Comes with box, pouch, and all other accessories that came with it when new. - SOLD Pentax DA* 50-135mm 2.8 - $700
Bought from Fred Miranda forums in 2011. No SDM issues, and optically perfect. Comes with box, pouch, and all other accessories that came with it when new. - SOLD Pentax DA 55-300mm 4-5.6 - $260
Bought this locally in 2010 or so and barely ever used it. It's been mounted maybe three times for a total of 20 shots. Comes with box and all other accessories that came with it when new. - SODL Pentax FA 43mm 1.9 Ltd (Made in Japan) - $480
One of the rare Made in Japan models. The lens itself is in perfect shape. The lens cap has some scuff marks from transport and the hood has a ding in it from when the lens swung lightly onto a rock. I'm also including two step down adapters that I used as an alternate lens hood. Comes with box, pouch, and all other accessories that came with it when new. - SOLD Tamron AF90mm 2.8 SP macro - $200
Bought this one from the Fred Miranda forums as well. One of my favourite lenses and is optically perfect. That said, the focus limiter does not work and the focus window is stuck within the range of the focus limiter. The lens stills focuses (auto and manual) from 1:1 macro all the way to infinity with zero issues. Comes with box, pouch, and all other accessories that came with it when new. - SOLD Sigma 30mm 1.4 EX DC - $300

My deals really don't compare... the best I was able to do was $50 for a K1000, M50 2.0, M28mm 2.8, a small tripod and a pack of assorted filters.
Within a span of 2 or 3 weeks, I missed not one, but TWO M50mm 1.2 by mere minutes. The first one was going for $50. The second for $80. :(

The FA35 is a fine lens, but I wouldn't pay the B&H price for it.

The lens may be assembled in Vietnam, but I believe the optics are still manufactured in Japan.

Going to have to agree with the previous posters. If you're on a budget but need flexibility, add a 55-300 to your kit and you'll have all your focal ranges covered. If you can afford it, a prime or two (DA 35 2.4 or FA 50 1.4) and an upgraded standard zoom (Tamron 17-50 or DA* 16-50 depending on your budget) would round off the kit nicely.
I'm not generally a fan of the super zooms, but I do understand their usefulness and convenience. They can complement a kit and be useful in certain situations, but they shouldn't be your only piece of glass.

I've bought two used 16-50s and a used 50-135. One of the 16-50s has about a year of use, the other which I sold recently had 2 years. The 50-135 has a little over 2 years as well. SDM on all of them hasn't shown any signs of problems. Maybe I'm just lucky

I'm not quite sure how much more it would cost to get it down to the States as the prices can vary quite a bit depending on how far west or south it'll have to go. Also, the DA version would probably cost a bit more to ship as I'd have to pack its box within another box.
The hood is the version with the slot & cover and it really does look identical to the official Pentax one.
As for the temptation, don't mention it... I think it's pretty clear that I'm not very good at resisting it

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale
DA or DAL 55-300 sold pending payment Asking Price
170 or 280 Item Location
Montreal, Quebec Item Description
Up for sale is either a DAL 55-300 with aftermarket hood or a DA 55-300 with box/paperwork/hood.
I purchased the DAL locally a month or so ago and ordered a hood for it off ebay. Though I had planned on keeping it, I also recently stumbled upon a DA version in a package deal and I now have both. I can't decide which one to keep, so I'm letting the forum do it for me
The DAL comes with original front cap, generic rear cap, and a hood which has a small scratch in it. Optically, cosmetically, and mechanically perfect. If you strain very hard, you can see the tiniest dust speck behind the front element (see pictures)
The DA version comes with original front and rear caps, hood, box, and papers. Also optically, cosmetically, and mechanically perfect. In the DA's case though, there are a few more specks of dust behind the front element (really only noticeable because of the macro lens I used to take pictures of the lens).
Price includes insured shipping to Canadian destinations and a $10 shipping credit to the US.
To be clear, I'm only selling one and keeping the other. Whether a metal mount, quickshift and a box is worth an extra $110 is up to the first person who jumps on this. EMT payment preferred
Thanks!

I have a GSN that I absolutely love. For the battery, it's not really necessary to buy an adapter. I just use a roll of cardboard (the packaging of the battery actually) and a wad of aluminum foil to bridge the gap. Works perfectly and is much easier than looking for a spring that fits correctly.

I have the impression you're not perpendicular to the wall but at a slight angle... the left corners seem to be slightly out of focus on the wider aperture shots.

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale
DA* 16-50 2.8 Asking Price
$660 Sold pending trade Item Location
Montreal Item Description
Up for sale is my second DA* 16-50 copy which I acquired locally. Item is in excellent condition and I am not able to find any marks at all on the glass or the body. It's in better shape than the copy I'm keeping and shows no signs of SDM issues. I bought it as a backup that I've since found to be completely unnecessary and would rather reinvest in some quality primes.
Comes with the box, case, manuals, original caps and hood, and even the silica packet it was packaged with.
Only shipping to Canada at the moment, but I'll open it up to the US if it doesn't sell after a week, and possibly worldwide afterwards.
I'm also looking for a 43mm or 77mm ltd, in case anyone has either for trade.
