I suggest look for remote that uses radio signal not infrared.Infrared need to be in line of sight like TV remote so you will be pointing the remote to the camera while taking shots (not to good if your included in the photo). With wireless radio trigger you can hide your hand at your back or pocket.
Been using Aputure Trigmaster plus for a while now most of the time for doing family pics( so I will be included in the pics :) ) The little downside of radio trigger is you have to connect the slave trigger to the camera but that's it.

I read somewhere here in the forum that the problem appears when setting the camera to P mode.

Try turning the screw drive focus contact on the lens with a small screw driver, this technique works on my 50-135 before I finally decided to send it for repair for SDM failure.

You will need an HDMI capture card (HDMI to USB) to connect your camera to laptop or a desktop PC.

I hope this is just a firmware bug that will be solve in future firmware update. Mine did the same twice before firmware upgrade and 1 time after. I also have full charge battery in both camera and grip so its not a low voltage issue.

Check your antivirus software maybe its in the quarantined file. If I remembet it right, I got a pop up from my antivirus software whwn I tried to extract the file.

Another vote for free Recuva!!! I deleted my My Documents folder with 32Gig of files one time while cleaning and organizing the folder in my PC, I recovered all 32 Gig without any issue.

Different experience on mine, I sent my lens last July for SDM repair, it;s been sitting on thier repair department for almost 2 months waiting for parts until I called them. They sent the lens now on a Pentax service center and now I'm counting weeks again for any waiting and waiting for my precious lens to come back to me in one piece.

Update: I finally pull the trigger. I sent the lens for repair trought Mack camera and verified form them that I still have 6 years warranty left. Hopefully all will go well, just a little disappointed that a year old 50-135 would have SDM problem.

Anybody had tried the new Aputure Trigmaster plus II? On the description it's compatible to Canon, Nikon and Pentax.

Did the customer support told what is the issue with Trigmaster plus when used as a remote? I've been using my Trigmaster plus as a remote on K7, K5 and K5iiS with no problem.

I have the same problem with my 50-135, I bought it used and now only covered by the Mack extended warranty. I reading reviews on repair done by Mack and some are not good result. My copy is sharp and accurate and I'm afraid if they might mess up the lens. I have a bad experience too with two of my Sigma lens that I sent to a known Sigma authorized service center before and that added to my worry if I send my Pentax lens for repair.
