Looking for help at archiving photos
what is the best jpeg file size to save if you have NO intention to further PP the photo?
what is the best TIFF to archive at? 16 bit versus 8 bit? what is the difference?
I will continue to search for info, while waiting for any help; thank you :)

The K7 sensor produces images at 1.5x focal length, right?
e.g. 300mm X 1.5 = 450mm?

so if i am not trusting the beep then i guess that i am eyeballing it the best i can
i have a multiplier eye cup
i am using the remote shutter release as suggested :)
i am using a sidekick setup with a 10kg capacity MH 1000 giottos head and manfrotto 055xprob sticks
it is a steady setup; i am going to fence test the DOF
i have been opening to 4.5; focus; then close down past f11
yesterday I was vfustrated; today i am in the acceptance phase and will practice more; get more very helpful tips and accept the art as it is :)

how would you adjust the focus on a k10, when it is set to mf? i do not think the k10 has af adjustment?

ty; i just learned that trick by accident :)
now i am opening up for focus then close down to an acceptable shutter speed while in green auto exposure
a little better
i need to get a friend to stand in the backyard instead of crazy moving birds and rabbits :)

f11 should be good, right???
when would use try it use anything close to f4.5; i am guessing bright light and big thing :)

hi,
i have a 500mm f4.5 I have it on a tripod with a TV of at least 500/sec; the SR is off and my aperture is f8; but i am still getting soft focus when downloaded to desktop, even though I am getting focus indicator when shooting
??
any advice? is this just par for this lens? or am i missing something?
i am using a k10 now going to check with k20
i switched to the k20 and the menu asked for the focal length i put 500mm; however the k10 did not ask????
i turn ed off the k20 aND then back on but it did not ask for manual focal length ;hmmm?????

i have purchased from prodigital but received the lens in its box with only a thin sheet of bubble wrapping inside a UPS plastic baggie it was for a DFA 100mm f2.8 macro for $320 total; it works fine :); i saved $$; but it was scary to see the banged up condition of the box when it arrived
I am looking for the another lens probably a DA*; it seems to be only a $100 difference bwt prodigital and B&H
is there any difference in warranties? I wondering if it it pays to invest the $100 for peace of mind that it gets delivered and safely; it seems that 2% of prodigi's orders get wacked or never sent or some other malady :)
any thoughts?

i was playing with a canon 24-70m, which also has a reverse zoom ring; is there any reason for this?
it is not a big deal at all; i am curious if there is a scientific explanation :)
it might be a financial reason coupled with IQ throughout the zoom range; any ideas?

is the 16-45 really that much of a jump over the kit lens?
yes; i have been searching threads and found alot of mixed reviews on good and bad copies of the 16-45; which makes me think to only buy a new copy because someone selling a used one probably had a bad copy :)

wow! that was great :)
so as long as the voltage is 7.4 there are no worries to messing up the body; whether the battery holds the charge longer is another issue
it seems the 3rd party is a better value

what is mAh?
the pentax has 1620mAh on the battery; while others have 1500 & 1800 mAh.
if 3rd party which is better?
is it better to stay away from 3rd party all together?
