Has anyone with a Sigma 8-16 got a picture of it mounted on their camera at all? Trying to get an idea of how large it is,

I was quite tempted with the 8-16 and kinda kicking myself for not ordering one last week as they were £400 but have shot up to £550 within a few days.
I had a Sigma 10-20 before on a Sony and for a short time on my K20 and loved it and based on price I'd buy another hands down, but I've been slimming my kit down to take up less space and make it easier to take with me hence my DA40 Ltd which lives on the camera just now, which is why I've been looking at building a 15/21/40 and eventually 70 kit, nice small, light lenses. If I hadn't been given the opportunity of the DA15 new at £440 I'd have bought a 10-20 already, but I think from the pictures I've seen that the 15 is a better lens and I didnt use the 10-20 much wider than 15 anyway, that said even if I do go down the prime route I may pickup an 8-16 in the future if the price goes normal again!

I've been looking at getting a new ultrawide and had been tempted by the 15mm at almost £600 but I've managed to source a new 15mm for £430 but I'm again swithering between this and a new Sigma 10-20 f4-5.6 for £330, I'm tempted to get the 15 and then add the 21 ltd later (already have the 40) but I'm tempted by covering almost the same range with the Sigma.....

Managed to source some cheaper 15mm and 21mm's here in the UK, think I'm going to order both! to give me 15/21/40 and I'll get rid of my 18-55, 70-300 and 55mm macro for now.

Yeah UK Prices are pretty bad with VAT added on and the fact that everything seems more expensive to begin with anyway!!!
If it was a little cheaper I'd have bought it now but its £589 for a 15mm, £400 almost for the 21mm, £330 for a 10-20 and £399 for the 8-16 so while I do want small and light the £330 10-20 is almost half the cost!

Cheers mate, I'm getting itchy buying fingers, especially seeing some of the price rises that have hit over here, I was considering picking up a Sigma 8-16 or 10-20 before the price rises as the 10-20 can still be had for £330 over here and if it goes up I can imagine its going to be £400+.
That said I might just splash out on the 15mm its almost £600 over here and I can only imagine what it might rise to!

I'm swithering between the 15mm and 21mm myself or simply buying a 10-20 Sigma, does anyone have both and if so which do you use more?

I'm quite close to pulling the trigger on a DA 15 purchase it meets my requirements, fairly wide, tiny size and the pictures in the thread have made me lust after it even more, I'm just not sure whether I want the 21mm to go with my 40mm first.

Looking at that has made me consider the 12-24 again I never considered the 10-20 that large a lens probably because it feels relatively fixed it doesn't expand much even at 20mm, fair enough the hood is much larger but the 12-24 lens itself is a very similar size... that said I would like the smaller profile of the 15/21mm pancakes to be a little less standout with my camera to give me more confidence to try some street photography!

To answer my own question on lens hood heres a pic fom elsewhere on here showing the Pentax 12-24 v the Sigma 10-20 and Pentax 16-45 complete with hoods.
12-24 hood is much larger than I expected it to be especially v the Sigma which I already thought had a relatively large lens hood!

120-400mm f/4.5-5.6 DG OS HSM
Also theres the "Bigma" 150-500mm

Lol, yeah I've heard the hood is pretty spectacular, is it bigger or smaller than the one on the Sigma 10-20?
