Reversing an older 50mm M lens works pretty well. The double lens method (noted in prior posts) looks impressive.
I'd cheat and use a flash as the light source. keep shake blur down to a minimum. Does take a bit of playing to get the flash at the right distance from the subject for proper exposure. The background goes dark.
The pentax wireless flash (360, or Metz 48) works great, especially with wireless remote trigger.

Sure, why not produce products for the next up and coming generation?
unique cameras = more exposure. Exposure is good.
Loyal pentax customers will still get our annual or bi-annual camera upgrades.
Good that pentax is going for the younger population who may become loyal users.
p.s. k-x does a very nice job. In some situations, it's nicer than my K20d

with MF mode / MF lens on myK20, sometimes the focus confirmation light comes on, and sometimes it does not.
It may takes a few back and forth turns to get the focus confirmation indicator. It's pretty much the same with my K-x.

I purchased an old Pentax Honeywell spotmatic with horizontal traveling cloth shutter. The previous owner apparently shot into the sun and managed to burn a hole into the cloth shutter curtin. A tiny tiny pinhole surrounded by warped surface. I suspect that the mirror went up and the curtin was exposed before the shutter assembly begins it's travel.
Under the right conditions, (wide apeture, slow shutter, concentrated focus point), I could see a few senors getting a bit of heat.
With that said, my 8mm lens very often catch the sun and I have not experience any sensor failures thus far.
go forth and shoot.

I have a K20d and I recently took shipment of a Kx.
I noticed that the Kx focus screen (viewfinder) is brighter than that of a K20d. (using same 18-55 lens for reference). Anyone else find this to be the case? It seems to be maybe about one f-stop brighter.
