Running Linux (Fedora 21) on my computers, my son runs Ubuntu 14.04 LTS on his laptop and we are not missing Windows in any flavour: stability, safety and freedom makes a great software.
Not missing Photoshop replaced by GIMP. And software quality is far in front of equivalent MS products

Running Fedora 21, I have been working with my Pentax DSLR for about ten years, I have no problem to work with Ufraw+Gimp, I can open PEF and DGN files....I tried also Rawtherapee and Darktable (please try also them) but I reverted to Gimp...furthermore I installed Ufraw+Gimp also in Windows so I have same tools on both operating systems...

Reset was tried but no luck... I get a Bogus dqt index 15 error when opening jpeg files with a viewer, while raw files can be opened with The Gimp, even if not previewed on the camera
I fear that camera is dying :-(

after 10 years of working, suddenly I realized that I cannot see the images on the LCD screen after shooting, I get "Camera cannot display this image", either in Raw or Jpeg.
In advanced view, I get a ? instead of image and all field are --- . Tried different SD cards, formatted them in the machine, no way to have it work again.Images can be downloaded on my computer,
Any idea, or shall I declare it out-of-work??

I use my DSLR on the Alps in winter at -15C continuously with no major problem for winter sports, but I am using Eneloops batteries.
As soon as I stop shooting, I put in my rucksack with a woollen cover (not very useful; I understand..)

this in Monterosa between Champoluc and Gressoney, about 10 km east of Cervinia.
Cervinia is at the western end of Monterosa. The peak is called Castore, one of the many over 4000 peaks (not Everest anyway, but best of Europe).I undesrtand that you know Cervinia, don't you?? Other pictures will follow...

tnx for your comment: I posted the original as in the film era, with no major PP work, basically from RAW to JPEG and some USM, just to show the capability of the lens....not the ability of each of us to PP the picture!!!
Great work on my original

I got mine about 15 years ago in the MeSuper age.
More interesting now because it is a super telezoom.
But note that in the background you will get small circles in the photo

The world is really small....
Brugherio is 20 km east of my town...I used to attend racing car events in Monza (when I was young and I didn't mind to come back home fully wet after many hours of rain..)

I got mine more than one year ago.
I didn't use very often because my subjects are mainly landscape, sport.
Anyway, it is a good bargain.I will try to post a shot on dedicated forum.
Did you get it by Victor???

Saronno is located about 15 km north of Milan. It is a small town where most people commute to/from Milan .
If you have a map of Italy and you draw a line between Milan and Lake of Como, we are located where the middle point of the line is...
And ifyou travel by plane to Milan, you will find Saronno on the railway connecting Milan airport and Milan downtown!!!!
