Compare FF and EVIL. Which one took off faster? Which market is still open to new innovations? Which market has the biggest potential client base? Which one simply makes more sense?
Oh, and while we're at improving, how about we start with prices, then move on to the lenses(FAs), then, just for me, release a new K200D^^ and THEN we can take a look at making FF cameras.

In the video i linked, Johanna Blakley makes the point that, even though there is no IP protection in fashion, the fashion industry is alive and well. So it does at least seem that they can indeed afford to not have IP protection.
She also makes the direct comparison of IP vs. No IP industries (attached graph).

First of, if moderators see this as belonging in the politic discussions forum, please move it. I just felt it fits here better.
In this day and age, where every ten year old boy and his mom can "pirate" copyrighted goods, be it a game or a photograph, creators of this intellectual property are up in arms and, quite frankly, pissed.
Where exactly copyright applies and what the legal ramifications are, is not the topic of this post, since thats been discussed elsewehre often enough.
What I'm asking is: Why copyright aka intellectual property(IP) protection?
This question arose in me, after watching a very interesting TED talk, that highlighted a totally different aspect of copyright protection. That of having none at all, which is the case in fashion for example. I urge you all to watch this very informative talk.

They should create a camera OS that everyone can program apps for; just like with android.

The YN 460 is a new manual flash, so no charts.
Manual flashes shine in situations where you can control all light. So for an actual photo session, its good(although umbrella, softbox, etc. never hurt) and cheap, but not for on camera flash.

In my opinion, when taking pictures just for the webs, ISO is the only way of grabbing more light without changing the way the picture looks. i also have it on -6400.
Btw, if you ever come across a "Semipro" bitching about how cool his 7D is, just say AutoISO and they'll shush, cause they dont got it(at least not in a usable form).
Why should AutoISO be banned? I think ISO shouldnt be the photographers concern since it doesnt have a huge effect on your picture like a closed or opened aperture or fast or slow shutter speeds.

For general purpose portaiture, i'd recommend the manual lenses 50mm f1.7 and the 85mm 2.0.
BUT in this situation i'd rather go with a fast zoom, like a tamron 17-50 or 28-75, both f2.8. A kid might not wait for you to take that step back or forth for feetzooming.

What i dont entirely get is why there are slow zooms with varying apertures, and zooms with constant aperture, but not zooms with fast varying apertures. A 70-200mm with f2.8 would need a bigger size at 200mm for the f2.8 than at 70mm. Shouldnt it then be easy to have a faster aperture at the lower range?

How did you get those shots? Those birds are rather small and 200mm is so short.

One thing that confused me: The corrections also influence the RAW file, not just the jpeg. This almost scared me, because i always thought no settings whatsoever directly influence the RAW file.
It does work to some extent, but my question would be how this effect is achieved? Can i get the same results in an RAW processing programme? If not, then the correction would almost seem necessary to get that last bit of dynamic range out of the sensor.

The High ISO shot looks fake, honestly. No matter how bad the situation, i cant get even nearly the amount of chroma(!) noise that the reviewer got.

Are there actually any flash controls on the camera that transfer through to the Metz? It seems everything from FEC to 2nd curtain has to be set in the flashes menu.

The manual says linking the AF to the exposure only works with matrix metering.
What it doesnt say, is what that custom setting is actually supposed to do. Could anyone elaborate on that?

Exif? I don't mean just the settings, but the real exif, with all the information. Maybe theres some obscure setting you forgot about.

what price range are we looking at?
On the cheap, a Tamron 28-75 f2.8 would be nice, or the same with 17-50.
It's also not a bad idea to at least try out primes with an A 50mm 1.7. Theyre rather cheap, but produce great pictures.

Either set WB manually or, if you work with some sort of picture management software like Lightroom, you can just assign a certain WB to all pictures at once.

No, he couldnt, because the K-x doesnt have that jack, only IR and the calculator solution, although very cool, doesnt take IR into consideration.

The one problem with touchscreen on a DSLR is the lacking feedback. Everything else is a question of intelligent engineering und programming.
personally, i'd love to see a voice controlled camera, although it might make you look like a Jerk.
