Hi Just a suggestion here . Get a good quality HAZE or POLARIZING Filter and a couple of lens hoods, one collapsible and one petal and stop getting paranoid about lens flare, it happens, use YOUR FLAIR.
Maybe try a comparison with some black and white old stock film , be wasteful. POST some photos.

What a great buy. The lens caps are selling for $10 each in Europe and I just sold a spare !.4 for just under £80.00 (yes pounds sterling)to Portugal, where there seems to be a massive interest in all things vintage Pentax. Why is that?

Not quite sure what you mean by' more comfortable '. Tried both ME super and Spomatic SP today, handheld. Both felt right.

Hi SMC. This adaprtor is opening up my choices both between the MEs and Spotmatics and my next purchase of DSLR. What to buy as a used PENTAX DSLR? Would it seem crazy to base my choice of DSLR body around the adaptor + my favourite 1.4 /50mm TAK as a starter into my digital learning curve.I am leaning towards a used K10. My experience todate has been with a OPTIO 330gs which I use on a daily basis and is a great litte camera for record shots, but I want to move up a grade. What should I budget for a starter DSLR? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for dating it . Yes they are so unobtrusive and although I am great SPOTMATIC fan I tend to reach for the ME's and with the adaptor all my Takumars are to hand.

Yes BKRL a bargain indeed. Need to put a film in and get shooting. Like your OULU shots. I went through there in 1959 on a scandinavian lakeside camping trip, EERY at night and amazing unmade roads. Had a 'paxette' in those days. The quality of light was fantastic.

Pentax MG thoughts solicited

I just had delivery of an MG which I bought with two other bodies on a whim off Ebay for £30.00' it was sold for spares but apart from needing a replacement viewfinder surround and a loose battery cover it is all working. Will I get away with 2xs LR 44 batteries as I see you mention S76 ?. Ive fitted an eye shield temporarily so that is a practical discuise while I source a replacement. I plan to fit an adaptor and then use it as a second body with B&W film loaded and a Sigma XQ f 1;3.5 39-80 zoom as my prime lens. Do you think this will work as a pairing or am I going to have the same problems you experienced with the 35-70.I really want to use it as a point and shoot as it was intended and use up ddsome outdated film I have . Again any tips I like high contrast images for grainy enlargements. Let me have yoyr thoughts

Hi PETER. You have solved the problem and were absolutely right first shot, It is a removable adaptor unlike any of the previous ones I have seen or bought, which are really wide flanged. What confused me was that it looked so integral with the body, very NEAT design, beautifully made. I will put it on my treasured f 1.4 TAK, so yes I think I got a bargain @ £12.50 +postage and I have a SPARE BODY AS WELLl if any one is interested.
So I can put this to bed and say thanks for all your help.Oh finally mine doesn't just say
' Pentax' it has the ASAHI PENTAX engraving. Now there's a thing for the perfectionists. Can anyone date it ?.

HI IAM A NEWBIE who has today acquired a PENTAX ME SUPER with an original factory fitted M42 screw mount . Can you folks tell me if this an unusal find. It means I can use all my old Taks without any hassle. Was this an admission by Pentax that we liked the screwmounts and the lenses?.
