I've ordered a wein cell over the net for my sp1000.

But meanwhile I have been looking around for an E387/s to fill in.

I can't find anything, I have an old mrb400 from wein with the plastic collar,

can anybody give me a number of a battery that will fit in the wein collar.

I'm living in china so a little difficult to go to radio shack.
I'm in Hong Kong next week so hope to get an energizer then.
thx.

Is it normal to have to adjust the date/time, everytime I re-insert the bateries in my K100D super.
I don't like to keep the batteries loaded if not using the camera.

sorry if question asked before.
regards

I will get a photo up asap.
Its an original pentax 50 mm 1:1.4 m42, auto super takumar. I purchased thru ebay about 6 months ago.
I have never attempted any repairs myself. Possibly will take it to the local guy for dismantle.

I was just out using my sp1000 when I noticed that the lens wasn't stopping down.
I removed the lens and started pushing the little button and nothing happens.
It appears the aperture is fully open except for one leaf that is partially out. maybe it is stuck. It is an m42 auto 1-1:4 pentax lens.
Is it a linkage that has broken???
cheers

Hi,
I hadn't used my K 50mm 1:1/4 lens for about a month. i recently had it cleaned, today I tried to change the aperture and I found it difficult to turn. It was momentarily stuck on f1.4, it took a good bit of pressure to get it to turn. It also required firm pressure to turn the ring.
It has been quite cold recently here, temperatures 6-10 celsius, would that affect the lubrication.
thx

Camera/Lens Storage.

As I'm living in the tropics and can get quite humid/wet, I'm concerned about storing my newly acquired Pentax SLR camera/Lenses.

My plan is to use a lockable storage box with a styrofoam insert to hold the equipment, and then place a dehumidifier pot (the disposable kind from the supermarket) inside.
Is this suitable?? Or can somebody offer another solution.

Regards
Greg

My eyesight prescription say I am minus 0.75 in the right eye and have astimagtism minus 1.0 (my long distance vision is decreased)
I know my left eye has better vision

Do i need to wear my glasses when focussing or use some viewfinder device. I have just begun to learn about manual lenses cameras and not sure if my focus is accurate.
(i have sp1000 and k 1000)
thx

Overexposing film.

I just read that it may be desirable in older film cameras to set a lower ASA/ISO than actually being used.
As it is easier to work with (develop)overexposed film than the opposite.
The reason given that light meters may not be perfect.
Any thoughts.
Thanks.

Spotmatic SP1000(Nooby sorry)

I have a K1000 but need a lens.

Looking to purchase a Spotmatic 1000 off ebay for the lens, it comes with an SMC Takumar 2/55 lens for a cheap price. I understand these lenses are sought after.
I realise I will need an adapter ring. Will there be any problems using this lens on the K1000.

Secondly are there any batteries for the spotmatic, or do you have to convert them to use newer batteries.

lastly the sp1000 is advertised as being used in 1960's, i read they were produced in 1970's era.??
it doesn't have hotshoe flash on top.

sorry for any stupid questions, i'm a newby and just starting with the slr film photography.

cheers
