Her is the best shot so far with a recent pickup of mine. I purchased a Mamiya 400mm f6.3 which is fully manual but turning out OK with a bit of practice. The best part of the lens is the price $31.50 plus another $19.95 for an M42 to K mount adapter!!
This shot is at 1/350 f11 ISO 200 with a medium crop. This is mounted on a cheapy plastic tripod so mounted on my Manfrotto I should get better results. |

Hi all,
I am not sure how photographers generally interact or don't interact with subjects at protests or when street shooting but I have always been one to try to talk to the subjects and get a feel for their stories and state of mind when doing protest or street photography.
This week i took a walk around our local Occupy Maine encampment at Lincoln Park in Portland, Maine and spoke to several of the occupiers. One gentleman by the name of Bobby B was quite a character and described himself as a homeless man enjoying his time at the occupy protests over the lest few months. I never met this guy before but after just two or three minutes of lighthearted conversation I clicked the voice notes application on my smartphone as he was very animated and fun. About 30 seconds after I started recording, Bobby B spontaniously broke into song.......please see it here as the experience gave me goose bumps as I think I was lucky enough to capture something really special to me. Show me some of your protest and street shooting interaction photographs or projects.
Comments welcome on mine. :D

Hi Clou,
Thanks for hosting.
ohce, I see a few lines in each of your shots. Not sure if they are from PP or maybe from the upload here?
Clou, very cool water drip as I can see a mountain captured in the larger drop that is falling!
We went skiing today and I can't help but to camp out in the terrain park for a little while when I go.
